People say their grandmothers used to scold their parents by having them kneel on rice for a while. It hurts.

Kneeling on that hard floor could become quite painful after awhile... 😥

Bagging the beans does somewhat mitigate the pain. Nevertheless, it's still painful and rice just gnaws at the brain.

Bagging the beans or rice does help cut down on the pain. Beans are much worse than rice. And the more you squirm the worse it is actually. And very painful if you have bad knees for sure!

My nan told me she had to kneel on beans after a punishment, as did her mum. When she was allowed up, crying, she was given a spanking as something to cry about. Would i do it, well Sir, i do as i am told but feel this is a little archaic now. sara xx

I had to do it, stick for 15 minutes, it was endless

I agree. Would Pinto Beans be a better choice than rice.
