Geico ordered to pay $5.2M to woman who got HPV from car sex

Never mind the Car BJ that caused a head on collision with a FedEx truck. Get THIS!

Missouri Court of Appeals orders insurance juggernaut Geico to pay a woman $5.2 million in damages after being infected with HPV during intimate activities that took place in an insured personal vehicle.
Since the incident in question happened in her partner's car, she argued that his liability insurance was responsible for damages. A settlement was reportedly offered to Geico, whose lawyers declined. As anybody who's had legal entanglements with an insurance company can probably guess, the case went to arbitration.

Legal precedence has been made. Having car sex? Know your partner's sexual history.
WAIT? Isn't that a good idea at all times?

Wondering how they came up with 5.2 Million.
Sometimes settlements are the way to go, even when you think you are right and will win.

I think the courts are losing their minds these days. Does that mean homeowner's or renter's insurance is liable if you catch something there? I think the educated people on the bench need some common sense.

abso-fucking-lutely. Common sense is going to hell in a handbasket.

I agree with ToyMaster... WTF is going on with the courts
in this decision? I can't even believe it...

I guess if SCOTUS can make bad decisions, all the courts can. I hate getting old, but I'm not sure, I'd want to face the future as a young person.

First off this will be overturned...

1. How does one prove she got hpv from this guy at this time in said car...hpv can take years to develop and cant be detected with the naked eye.
2. Prove damages...she never got cancer...she like millions of americans have hvp.

3. The arbitrator was being a complete asshole in this case and overstepped their station..
She asked for a million and this twit gave her 5to.

4. There is no " bodily harm"...And no i dont care that getting an std in a car isnt specifically spelled out in your policy.
If so then can a woman also sue geiko if she gets pregnant in said car and now has to undergo the pain of childbirth

Just passing on a story
No doubt, GEICO with try to go to court again. But their appeal to the arbitrator was denied. And they AGREED to arbitration rather than a court case.

Are you saying you would let any skank blow you in your car without asking an obvious question or two?

The GUY gave the woman the HPV. SHE should have asked, yet she's getting the $5.2 mil.
