Pleasure and pain for a masochist See comments for post Her first ever flogging and the second time I've caned her. |

The other day, my slave, Courtney, and I were discussing the effects of pleasure and pain on her. First we discussed the effect of pain She had earned, over the time we were apart, a good amount of discipline coming to her. I broke the number of strikes/lashes into smaller increments to be delivered over the time she was staying with me. The first 10, delivered with a paddle came before I brought her to an orgasm, with a vibrating anal plug inserted. The second 10, delivered with a suede flogger came after some relaxation and cuddling time. The third 10, delivered with a ¼” cane, came after I brought her to an orgasm. She told me all three had a different effect on her, even though she felt my strikes/lashes were all about the same intensity. She found the paddling felt much less painful to her than usual as the vibrating anal plug kept her mind busy and she was anticipating that I would bring her to orgasm. She thought the flogger lashing was a “normal” pain. As nothing was enhancing or mitigating it, beyond the cuddling. It may have stung a bit more from being so relaxed. She said the caning, was much more painful, not because I land the strikes any harder than I had in the past, but because she was coming down off the high of the orgasm There’s a reason for this relationship of pleasure and pain: The relationship will come as no surprise to those who run and get the “runner’s high”. Bursts of intense exertion release lactic acid, a by-product of the breakdown of glucose when oxygen is in short supply. The acid irritates pain receptors in the muscles, and these communicate their plight to the brain through electrical messages, sent through the spinal cord. The signals are interpreted as a burning sensation in the legs, usually causing the runner to slow down or stop. That is until the nervous system's control center, the hippocampus, kicks in. This portion of the brain responds to pain signals by ordering the production of the body's own narcotics, endorphins. The proteins bind to opioid receptors in the brain and prevent the release of chemicals involved in the transmission of pain signals. This helps block pain, but endorphins go further, stimulating the brain's limbic and prefrontal regions – the same areas activated by passionate love affairs and music. It’s a post-pain rush similar to the high of morphine or heroin, which also bind to the brain’s opioid receptors. Meanwhile, the pain of intense exercise also causes a spike in another of the body’s painkillers, anandamide. Known as the ‘bliss chemical’, it binds to cannabinoid receptors in the brain to block pain signals and induce the warm, fuzzy pleasure emulated by marijuana, which binds to the same receptors. Adrenaline, also produced in response to pain, adds to the excitement by raising the athlete’s heart rate. Of course, this all works the same way during sex and BDSM play. Then you throw in the minds work, concentrating on certain aspects of what is going on at any given time and you have the body and mind using pleasure to mitigate pain and pain to enhance pleasure.

What is Your thought on someone who wants to endure/ suffer for someone , because He wants you to? Because I want to please Him. I have never considered myself a masochist, but lately I seem to be craving more pain. For example, I am terrified of canes yet I have asked to be caned because it pleases Him for me to suffer. I don’t understand where my brain has gone .
