Why is Fall #1

Bugs, while necessary in the scheme of things, belong in hell.

If they leave me alone, I leave them alone

I use to think that really cold weather would kill all the mosquitoes. But then one day I was watching a show on fishing in Alaska when the spring thaw started. They had on mosquito netting and were swarmed in them so thick it looked like smoke on them......I gave up that silly idea of the cold killing them LOL.

Guess it depends of geographic's. They certainly die in New England. Or maybe they migrate to Alaska.

The cold in Alaska kills them off ... but does not kill their eggs, which hatch as soon as the weather warms up and perhaps a few times during the short summer.

That's like what i tell myself when i find that i am complaining about a long stretch of sub-zero nights. "At least there will be fewer insects next spring." Only the ones who found the REALLY good wintering spots survive. On the other hand, natural selection being what it is, they are probably the ones who reproduce the most and "bug" people the most. - Sigh.

There is no perfect place to live. Still, i'll take the occasional blizzard or cold snap over Hurricanes, Tornadoes, Forest Fires/Mud Slides, or droughts any time.

My "gurl name" is Kate Coxuker. It is who i am and what i do.
