A necessary trait for a Dominant is self-esteem. Without it cracks will show in the dominance that the person is trying to project. Similarly, a submissive should have self-esteem. Without self-esteem, a submissive can easily become a doormat for a Dominant. By having self-esteem, a submissive knows how they should be treated by a Dominant and not settle for being treated poorly and without respect. I do realize that some dynamics are predicated on humiliation, but even a submissive into humiliation kink needs to know what goes too far and when they are being taken advantage of. A Dominant that wants a submissive with low or no self-esteem has no thoughts of being fair with the submissive. No thoughts of the submissive’s emotions except to crush them. No thoughts of giving the submissive anything, only taking from the submissive what pleases the Dominant. Each of us should know their worth and how we should be perceived, no matter which role we live. © 9/14/24 Ronald Dirienzo
