Wolf Moon

What Is the Spiritual Meaning of the Wolf Moon?

"The wolf moon that comes in the dead of winter is a time for transformation and introspection," Stina Garbis, psychic and astrologer, tells POPSUGAR. "It is a time of figuring out what you need in order to have a successful life. It's also a time of seeing what's missing and finding truth in what you long for. It's about sacrifice, finding personal truth, and discovering your purpose and how it relates to the bigger picture and society as a whole."

Astrologer Lisa Stardust says that the wolf moon in 2023 may also signal an intense time of change. "This full moon connects with rebellious planet Uranus, which is pushing us to move into the New Year with high hopes and individuality and the incentive to reach for our dreams," Stardust tells POPSUGAR.

Native tribes believe that during the month of January, hungry wolves howl towards the direction of the moon for reasons like hunting for food, claiming their territory and making their existence known in front of the human settlement.

What Does the Wolf Moon Mean For Each Zodiac Sign?

Aries: January is a good time for Aries to get cozy. Stardust recommends snuggling up with a good book or TV show and embracing the warm, relaxed vibe.

Taurus: Is there something you need to open up about, Taurus? Stardust says that your heart may be "yearning to speak your truest emotions," so it may be time to have those tough conversations.

Gemini: Geminis may start feeling like some lines are being crossed, and Stardust says that now's the time to address it. "Setting boundaries with others is important right now," she explains.

Cancer: It's time to let those feelings out, Cancer. If you're feeling emotionally clogged up, go ahead and have a good cry during this wolf moon, Stardust advises.

Leo: For Leos, Stardust says this is a time of introspection. This month is an opportunity to connect with yourself without the glare of the spotlight, so try to take advantage of it.

Virgo: This month, including the wolf moon, will be all about relationships for Virgos. Now's the time to step up and prove how much you care about those closest to you, Stardust says.

Libra: Libra, get ready for a career development. "A new professional opportunity is around the corner," Stardust shares. "Believe in yourself and it'll come your way."

Scorpio: January may present challenging situations for Scorpios, and it will be important to approach them carefully. "Taking the high road is hard, especially when you know that you were the one wronged in a situation," Stardust says, but it'll be essential for Scorpios this month.

Sagittarius: Sagittarius may be thinking of stirring the pot, but sensitivity and patience may be the better move. "You want to be heard," Stardust says, "but at what cost? Think about the consequences of creating drama now. It's simply not worth it."

Capricorn: Now is a time for deep conversations, Capricorn. "Talking out matters with your loved ones will bring you both closer together," Stardust says.

Aquarius: Take a sec to chill, Aquarius. "Adding downtime to your life is important, as it will help you relax and unwind right now," Stardust says.

Pisces: Love may be powerful for Pisces in January, Stardust notes, helping you to transform and evoke your spirit — and the full wolf moon is an especially potent time to tune in.

The Wisdom of Wolves

The 3 in the front are old and sick, they walk in front to set the pace oof the running group lest they get behind.

The next 5 are the strongest and best, they are tasked to protect the front side if there is an attack.

The pack in the middle are always protected from any attack.

The 5 behind them are also among the strongest and best; they are tasked to protect the back side if there is an attack.

The last on is the LEADER. He ensures that no one is left behind. He keeps the pack unified and on the same path. He is always ready to run in any direction to protect and serves as the 'bodyguard' in the entire group.

I have found this post to be one of my favorites, so thought I would add this.

Beautiful.
In my tribe, the wolf is seen as an elder statesmen, grounded leader, steady and deliberate with wise decision making. Unlike his little brother the coyote, who is a naughty trickster.
The Wolf Moon, is also a time of deeper carnal connection, the dominant pair or perspective mates are calling and searching, as it is very close to mating season. The alpha female will soon be in heat and bred, so that her pups are born just as the burgeoning bounty of spring time arrives taking hold on the landscape. Offering plentiful hunting harvest for raising the pups and maintaining the pack.
Stunning creatures, I wish we took better care of their ecosystem and home ranges. Start treating them and all wildlife as if they were relatives…as they are. We are all connected on our one and only planet.

grywolf, I have never given that a thought... I can not imagine a wolf would survive long being caged... and certainly they would not to the moon.. they are a gift to us, as MasterDevilish said, 'man can learn a lot from them'

I like your words... I have found nothing feels so rejuvenating of heart and soul then to go to the top of a mountain and howl as loud and long as I can. Just the thought of it brings a big smiles to my face and heart.

A strongly determined and proud animal with great leadership abilities and always true to their nature. Men can learn a lot from them.

That is nice of you to say, they are disliked by so many but are so important in the world. To me, they are beautiful, majestic and deserve to be honored.

Wolves, even. It is a beautiful, lonely, terrifying sound.

Why do people believe that happiness is in success, prosperity in material things, always looking outside of their being, without paying attention to the fact that we all bring happiness attached to life?

Rowena_H_of_A replies on 1/6/2023 10:41 pm:
I am not sure, but I do not think 'all' people believe how you say..
I for one think happiness 'is' success and material things are just that 'material'. Is it not better to look inside yourself then outside yourself? Life, being alive, is happiness.
