Devotion

Sometimes it forgets to pay attention to the little things. Like the feel of its collar against its skin. The softest leather on the side touching its neck. The other side smooth like butter. And the symbolic lock attached to the front.

The lock is small but hangs heavy at times. Full of the training it has received and the knowledge its Owner has gifted it. The expectations it must do its best to live up to. The memory of failures its Owner made lessons of. And all the time that has passed since it gave up trying to be a person.

Its been so much happier ever since.
