A little Honesty and a repost for the day. {reply} One mistake many people make when first entering the lifestyle, is relying on one person to show them the way or one book or one website. Knowledge is an illusion . . Don't let the noise of other's opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you want to become. Everything else, is secondary. |

The greatest enemy of knowledge, is not ignorance. It's the illusion of knowledge.

Being new myself, I had to learn that this lifestyle can be a lot of different lifestyles depending on each person's needs and wants. When you come from a vanilla lifestyle, you expect things to follow a certain pattern and that is the beauty of this lifestyle. It can be whatever you need it to be. So you can't learn "everythng" about it from any one person or book.

Intuition and emotion (your heart) are NOT knowledge or the application of knowledge. They actually get in the way of knowledge and it application. See post Real Political Debate for a complete explanation. Please do not use intuition or your heart. You will almost always be wrong. That's what's happening with the abortion argument, the Thomas affair, critical race theory, police brutality, arms/guns, etc..... Without logical arguments and rationality, knowledge and the application thereof is useless and dangerous. Creativity uses intuition and emotion but those steps then have to conform to logic and rationality. There is a need for creativity, but not in the application of knowledge to public policy. Logic and rationality must win the day or chaos will reign.
