Who Controls The Future

"Who controls the past, controls the future: who
controls the present, controls the past," is a quote
from George Orwells 1984.
Whoever controls the image and information of the past
determines what and how future generations will think;
whoever controls the information and images of the present
determines how those same people will view the past." "He
who controls the past commands the future. He who commands
the future conquers the past.
Trump supporters ignore his mis-characterization of the racism
an history like his remarks on the civil war; "People don't realize,
you know, the civil war, if you think about it why people don't ask
that question, but why was there a civil war? He, (Andrew
Jackson) saw what was happening with the civil war, he
said, "there's no reason for this"".
Here's the part of trump's account that is problematic . . Andrew
Jackson died about 16 years before the civil war.

There are more books being banned and more books
being banned in bulk than ever before. Since the start
of the 2022-2023 school year — July 1 through
December 30, 2023 — PEN America recorded 1,477
separate instances of book bans across the country.
This includes 874 unique titles in 182 school districts
and 37 states.
trump, an legislator like him, want to control your 's
education of the past, shape the information of their present
so that when they claim America has never been racist, sexist
or homophobic, they believe it.

Illinois becomes first state in U.S. to outlaw book bans in libraries.
The law directs public libraries in the state to adopt or write their
own versions of a library bill of rights such as the American Library
Association’s, which asserts that “Materials should not be proscribed
or removed because of partisan or doctrinal disapproval.
Libraries that don’t comply could lose state funding,
Governor Pritzker appeared to call out, though not by name, Gov.
Ron DeSantis of Florida, a Republican who has staked his 2024
presidential candidacy in part on his status as a driver of conservative
policies addressing cultural issues.

The liberals, progressives, democrats are calling for bans on Little House on the Prairie, Dr Seuss, Mark Twain among others. Clean up your own house before you criticize conservatives for their opinions. Children are not allowed to have alcohol or cigarettes because adults feel they aren't ready to make that decision for themselves. You want to poison the kids minds so they'll be more receptive of your liberal theories.

Yes, these an many others are being banned
because the portray accurate accounts of racism
and discrimination of black people, native Americans
and gay/trans people. The leader of this movement is
your governor de santis.
You want us to compare giving children cigarettes
and alcohol with letting them read the truth about
America.

I listened to the entire broadcast and the only mention of DeSantis was his poor campaign rollout on twitter. Sorry you lose. I am vindicated.

Does anyone really think they can change a country's history or let it be forgotten?
Hmm...It's all true and it happened! Of course it is also documented, not only in the USA, but also in all other countries that took part... and of course by all historians in the world!
All of these books weren't just published in the US...and they're stored somewhere....and they'll stay that way....
A ban only arouses curiosity...
At what age were we when we smoked our first cigarette, drank our first alcohol or "enjoyed" the first pornographic depictions?
Was there slavery? Yes!
Was and is there racism? Yes!
Have the indigenous peoples been (almost) wiped out? Yes!
Were there German concentration camps? Yes!
Were millions of Jews murdered there? Yes!!!
These are just a few examples....
History will never forget anything....

If the books are banned from libraries
and the subject is forbidden to be
taught in schools or referred to in any
media. It won't be forgotten, it'll be
unknown. So any distortion of history,
racism etc. will prevail.
