Someone reminded me today
that as a I once spent
the night in the same jail cell

Have never read anything about Jesse James where he ever spent a single night in any jail, anywhere. He was 34 years old when he was shot in the back of the head by Bob Ford in a house he was renting in Missouri with his wife and two kids in the next room...

Uh, he was from Clay County, Missouri and beside his involvement in the Confederate Army during the Civil War in which he fought as a 'guerrilla' aka 'bushwakers' in the border states to Missouri and on the frontier, his train and bank robbing escapades after the war all took place in those same states, in and around Missouri, and later in the Northern states above Missouri (Northfield, Minnesota being one of them). The closest he probably ever came to West Virginia was after the Northfield raid when he and his brother Frank split from the Youngers and laid low under assumed names in Tennessee for a few years...he was NOT a West Virginian...

Hint;
It wasn't in West Virginia.
It is a town in Missouri.

The jail was in liberty, mo.
legend is jesse an frank james
robbed the bank in liberty.
As far as jesse being held in
their jail I'm skeptical, but
I spent a night there waiting
to be bailed out on a traffic
ticket . . No bank robbery.
