Intimacy vs Monogamy

No one type of relationship is
intrinsically "healthier" or "more
involved" than another.

Monogamous, non-monogamous,
casual, fluid, friends with benefits,
unlabelled and beyond.

The structure of a relationship is not
what makes it healthy. What makes
a relationship healthy is clear communications
about the whole relationship, clear
expectations of the dimensions of the
relationship and equal consent to the
structure of the relationship.

Can there be devout intimacy
without monogamy?

Some folks have done so, but having them last very long term is rare.

I agree, illusions tend to
evaporate when exposed to
reality for very long.

Only Flaw with the assumption is ones perceived expectations over the others... Human error!

uncommon1 replies on 4/14/2024 11:08 am:
What assumption would that be??

often we crave intimacy and serve duty though it doesn't fulfill

uncommon1 replies on 4/14/2024 11:10 am:
There is no "duty" in the
structure of an intimate,
monogamous relationship,
only ethics.

interesting, children and other responsibilities imply duty, but your ethics point is well made.
