So lonely

I grew up here, this small rural town, but as a limited income retiree, it is a torture chamber, as I meet no one eligible. It has been 16 years alone, began as self imposed, but after several years here, and hoping to change that, I'm just disenchanted. How do others contend with such situations? I'm a part of the community, but an outsider. So awkward. When I first came to this site, I had one firm thought, but even now, I'm open to possibilities, just to get some much needed intimacy. No, I'm not a<b> depression </font></b>case, just lonely, disheartened and wanting that to end.
