Don't jump to conclusions, PG. Her inability to move in with you may not have anything at all to do with race--that is, with your being a sista. Some people simply have too much on their plate in their home location to be able (or to feel unhesitatingly inclined or free) to "pull up their tent pegs" on short notice and to move in with somebody rather far away. You have to assume that this person has a life and well-established routines outside of the alternative lifestyle scene of D/s and B&D & S&M in the town & state where she lives. No doubt, she has family, friends, a job, co-workers, an employer, maybe even a significant other, close to home. I'm sure she enjoyed your company, and will probably travel south again, soon., and pick up where you guys left off. Be patient and optimistic. If you have a channel of communication that is open to her, drop her an e- message, now and then, or give her a call or text via cell phone. My guess is that she's not ready yet to break away from her home base, or, for that matter, to think seriously,at this presenjt time, about starting a new chapter in her life , which would involve gaiving up a certain amount of personal privacy and cohabiting with another female. I doubt the color of that southern female roommate's skin would be a significant or relevant factor in that northernj female's decision to finally put your suggestion or request into play and made a reality. In the meantime, get your mind on other worthwhile topics. Don't sit there, pining away. Life probably has lots of fun, interesting, & rewarding things up its sleeve for you, yet. Be cool, girl, and stay safe and well.
