Let's see what ideas are out there for improving this site

I think there are 2 things Alt could do to make the site better: charge one price to all, but that price gives access to everything (and non-paying members can't create a profile); and fix their search filters - I usually use a 50 mile distance limit on my sesarches, but I usually get results from people thousands of miles away.

everything you mentioned enhances "free" memberships. How exactly does that improve Alts business model?? How about they don't allow deadbeat, wannabe free members and make the website cost more so that only those truly interested a BDSM join?? That improves their business model an their reputation.

Alt (and all other dating sites) should verify location on profiles. This could help allieviate third world country scammers.

Don't like them go elsewhere and make better choices next time. It isn't Alt's job to spoonfed you. It may be a lost cause, because they don't seem very interested in making improvements. However, I'd like to see them try! If you remember there was some dispute over what a paid membership actually gave you. So step one: Clearly set out what paid membership actually gets you. Women seeking men: Free membership. Can reply to any messages they receive. Make it a condition that they must reply to all messages within say 5 days of them logging in, after the message is received. As they may be receiving lots of messages, give them a quick reply button. Click a button on the incoming message which sends back to the sender something like; "Thanks for your message, but not what I am looking for. Thanks for your interest anyway." That way this gives them more time to reply to the messages that actually interest them. Those sending messages at least get a reply, even if it's not what they where hoping for! Men; Couples; Women seeking Women: (Also Women seeking men; who want to be able to make first contact  Give them a one month trial, where they can look around, check the site out & can reply to any messages they receive. Once the trial period is over they need to take out a low cost membership to continue being able to reply. Only one trail period allowed. To be able to make the first approach there would be a higher cost membership. Anyone on the higher cost membership would of course also be able to reply to anyone that sent them a message. They should kick the scammers off the site. Last time we discussed this, someone said they do, if you report them. To be fair when I've reported people who contact me, they do seem to disappear. So maybe he was right & we should all report more. Not knowing the costs of running the operation, it's difficult to say what the prices should be. But obviously the more numbers using the site the lower you can set the prices. If people found they could actually make contact & meet the sort of people they are interested in, that would make the site more popular. Obviously the free membership for women seeking men, is the big carrot to get men to pay. Everyone else, after their one month trial is paying something. So say $10 for three months to be able to reply to all messages. $30 for three months to be able to send messages & reply. I would have thought a lot more people would be prepared to pay, if the site worked. From what the bloggers say there is very little sign that there is much meeting going on through this site.

I could care less about the free members, as long as the site is checking to be sure the info is accurate. I'm sick of the SCAMMERS/FAKES, and the Dommes/Mistresses/Dominatrix that send you an inviting message and then proceed to demand that you go off-site to communicate with them and all the BS they spew about 'tributes', 'first session supplies, dungeon rent, etc, before you even physically MEET. I've reported several in the last several weeks and still see their profiles active on here...Also, profile that haven't been 'ACTIVE' where the person hasn't signed in for more than three months should be EXPUNGED, PERIOD.

I think the return of points would be a good start. They did encourage more activity, on the blogs, especially. The former ownerand founder did some good improvements on the friend finder site which he promised were coming here, but it seems e got sidtracked.

Fix IM system so it does not lock up I am a gold member and have had it lock up on me, once in awhile I was talking with another gold member

Anything that improves security on the site is good. Check locations. Verify pictures. Eliminate profiles that haven't been active in some number of months. Provide *some* incentive to stay and be active.

i dont think paid or free memberships are the problem, i do however agree there are a ton of Clearly fake accounts and scammers that clutter the site up.

Yes I think we should give credit to members like me who make webcam and publish sexy videos for the site to GOLD members, kisssss, Shemy

There are (often regional though) several sites which offer more service for less money. Although alt had a lively past (but you have to start counting in decades instead of years there) i do not see any real future for it. And as service is atrocious for any member level, i have stopped paying money for amateur programmers.

Alt has so much variety and potential with the community section, broadcasting, and more, it's great, but it's so broken. Just fix the site, give free members some limited chance to chat to others Women can reply to messages freely, but men have to pay? How is that fair? I'm a free member, and would consider paying if the site wasn't a complete mess. And having just enough benefits to entice more, like a few free IMs a day would be great.
