The Ugly Cry So ’s over. You’ve been spanked/flogged/fucked/paddled/whipped/bound/spread/clamped...whatever you and He are into, within an inch of your limits. Maybe you’ve tackled some emotional hotspot buttons, maybe not. You have your Dom, your blanket, your glass of water. Then it starts. The crying. I’m not talking about that sweet, eyelash fluttering, thank you Sir, of the few shed tears. I’m talking about the ugly cry. You know the one. The sobbing, the shaking shoulders, the wailing, the hiccupping; the can’t catch your breath cry. The unable to even articulate what your coming undone about cry. There’s probably snot involved. I know it release of adrenaline, and dopamine and stress, but ’s so much more. ’s every self-doubt, every bit of loneliness. It’s self-loathing body image issues, ’s fear, rage, sadness. ’s emotions you can’t even put a name . ’s every time you wanted cry, but didn’t. ’s accomplishments unacknowledged, and disappointments long forgotten. ’s a traumatic incident, ’s feeling like you’re not enough. ’s every broken heart. And comes pouring out of you in this raging torrent that you can’t stop. A catharsis. Eventually winds down deep shuddering breaths, little whimpering sniffles. And then it stops. And it freedom. And you are empty. Like that poison is gone from your system. A million pounds lighter. Released. You feel like you can finally draw a full breath again. That. I want that. |

That doesn't sound like too much to ask for. Often expectations exceed the satisfaction received from the actual success of achievement. They have In my case anyway. Right now all I think about is a VMAX this year, but when I get it. It probably won't be that big of a deal. Maybe things are different for you. I hope you day is a pleasant one.

I have witnessed this. I have tried to console, but it has to run its course. It can last for more than just those few hours. One must be prepared to accept it when it happens when least expected. "One Big Sky Covers Us All Equally"

I have had a few of those ugly cries, only two as a direct result of lifestyle play. The first with a rigger I knew well and spent a 3 day weekend being mentally and physically challenged and as he was releasing me from a suspension the dam broke and after it was over I felt my soul restored. That was not a goal either one of us had or anticipated but it is a highlight of our numerous sessions. The other was with my husband and probably was triggered more by our intense emotional connection as he gave me a seemingly endless orgasm after he flogged me more extremely than normal and upon entering me set me off till I was exhausted. That cry that makes you feel like your lungs are going to explode with all the deep breaths you're trying to take.......I hear you, yes, I definitely hear you.

This is just a perfect example of why aftercare is so so important. I have had subs go to similar places, and I must admit the very first time I was rather concerned. As that incident subsided, the cuddles, the support continued. After it had passed, we talked deeply about it, and I learned more about the submissive's psyche.

Is your anxiety anything you can talk about? If it's something personal I understand.

I've been there. It's a very great feeling to let that out. (IMH. Every Dominant I've ever been with has put me in that state of mind. Everyone needs to experience a bad/ugly cry once in a blue moon. Be well. Ali "Men need to hunt. She obviously understands this. She’s offering herself as prey. Not easy prey. But willing.”

It's never ugly, when it is a true expression of previously pent-up emotion.

I have seen those cries and the best action was to be supportive. Howling at the moon and mal ad osteo.

I have decided the person who originally decided to spell wind is wrong and illiterate, as they must not have realized there was a very well used word spelled wind that has nothing to do with winding a clock but every thing to do with the movement of the air and thus from this moment forward the correct spelling of wind is whined. I expect unanimous consent by the other 8 billion inhabitants. Not hearing an objection, it is so ordered!

Point of order: Upon further reflection I prefer whynd! and not having conceded my remaining time, whynd shale be the appropriate spelling.

You so accurately and articulately described it! Very impressed!
