Safety Pup So I am going to meet a potential Dom next weekend, and all the usual safety precautions are in place, safe call, letting someone know where I’ll be, when I’ll be back, limits known, we’ve been talking for about 6 weeks, so I don’t feel like we’ve rushed into this, although maybe some standards we have, although maybe some standards we’ve waited too long. I don’t know. Anyway, all subs have it drilled into them (or they should at least) safety, safety, safety. There are rules and protocols and general guidelines about how to protect yourself. And honestly, the Doms are fine with this. As they should be. At least the ones worthy of the name. If you happen across one that doesn’t abide these rules-RUN. The purpose of this post however is about female safety in general. I wonder if you men have any idea the safety precautions women have to take, just to live their lives. In the US alone 1 in 6 women will experience a r*pe or attempted r*pe in her lifetime. Gentleman, these are your wives, your sisters, your daughters, mothers and cousins, your submissive and your friends. And don’t even get me started about the college campus statistics, freshman girls, football players and frat parties are NOT a good mix. So in a community where consensual “r*pe play* is such a popular kink. As a person with an XY chromosome, this is just a partial list of what I should do to do to keep myself safe-basically at all times. • Don’t wear your hair in a ponytail-easy to grab • For the love of God, don’t leave your drink unattended • Carry an umbrella • Don’t get taken to a secondary site • Make sure all windows and doors in your home can be locked securely, particularly sliding glass doors. Use the locks. Keep entrances well lighted. • Check the identification of any sales or person before letting him in. • If you live in an apartment, avoid being in the laundry room or garage yourself, especially at night. • If you come home alone and find a door or window open or signs of forced entry don't go in. Go to the nearest phone and call the police. • Be alert to your surroundings and the people around you. • Stay in well-lighted areas as much as possible. • Walk confidently at a steady pace on the side of the street facing traffic. • Walk close to the curb. Avoid doorways, bushes, and alleys. • If you are in trouble, attract any way you can. Scream, yell for , or yell "Fire!" • If you feel you're being followed, walk into a store or knock on a house door. • Keep your car in good working order and the tank at least half full. • Park in well-lighted areas and lock the doors, even if you'll only be gone a short time. • When you return to your car, have the key ready and check the front and rear seats and floor before getting in. • Drive with all the doors locked. • Never pick up hitchhikers. • If you have a flat tire, drive on it until you reach a safe well-lighted and well-traveled area. • Exercise extra caution when using underground and enclosed parking garages. Try not to go alone. • If you are being followed, don't drive home. Go to the nearest police or fire station and honk your horn. Or drive to an open station or other business where you can safely call the police. Don't leave your car unless you are certain you can get inside the building safely. Try to obtain the license plate and description of the car following you. • Try not to load yourself down with packages or bags as this can make you appear more vulnerable. • Make sure your cell phone is with you and charged and that you have cab . • Don't allow yourself to be isolated with someone you don’t trust or someone you don’t know. • Avoid putting music headphones in both ears so that you can be more aware of your surroundings, especially if you are walking alone Why do I have to do all of this and more to keep myself safe? Why can’t I just walk down the street with impunity? How come I have to be responsible for my safety in this manner? How about you assholes just NOT take what isn’t freely given? |

And people wonder why I never wanted kids. I would have a panic attack every time they left the house without me! FFS...

I hope it is an amazingly mind-blowing experience!

There was a time in the late 80's with MIRC and not too long after via ah old hell, and probably via sites like this, there was a plethora of situations where guys were lured to hotels or places where they could be compromised, have their wallets and cash taken. In a few cases serious injury form an accomplice the the in some cases supposed female (in MIRC days). There was a good safety article floating about how a guy could protect himself from such a situation. If I find it again, I will post it on my blog. Have not heard of that happening in recent hears. But I suppose they are just happy to fleece a guy financially via on line connections. "One Big Sky Covers Us All Equally"

Hope your meeting goes well & leads to lots of fun. The satistics you mention are quite sobering & make me wonder how we compare over here in the UK. Of course you should be able to "walk down the street with impunity." It's a great shame that isn't the case.

rayne It is so sad that you and every woman must take these precautions because some men have no respect for others or principles!! A life spent making mistakes is not only more honorable, but more useful than a life spent doing nothing. George Bernard Shaw Jenny

Some great advice you have there, rayne......i love to hear you're charting your course for adventure

Sounds like you're set. I love the list you've made. It is a shame that we have to do all these things to ensure our safety. But, a girl has to do what a girl has to do. I've even taken to carrying mace on my car keychain. The climate we are living in these days worries me so much I just feel "better safe than sorry". I wish you safe journeys with your new adventure, and I hope it all works out for you. "Men need to hunt. She obviously understands this. She’s offering herself as prey. Not easy prey. But willing.”

The right man can threaten you and make you feel safe at the exact same time.....................But you should consider all of us extremely dangerous The mind is a complex thing.....You stare into it but you have no fucking idea what is looking back at you.......................I will tell you from very real experience as a man who hunted men on a field of battle. None of those precautions will save you from someone who wants to hurt you. So do your homework and try not to meet him in the first place. And now I must be going.....I just realized this isn't even my fucking blog. I will blow your mind like a verbal John Wilkes Booth

Great post. You're right, we can't even imagine what it's like to have to do these things just so we can go outside and have a life. Thanks for the post.

The defense is a good offense. Chemical mace and or a handgun usually take care of most threats. Be safe and have fun. Howling at the moon and mal ad osteo.
