'This day and age we're living in
Gives cause for apprehension
With speed and new invention
And things like fourth dimension
Yet we get a trifle weary
With Mr. Einstein's theory
So we must get down to earth at times
Relax relieve the tension
And no matter what the progress
Or what may yet be proved
The simple facts of life are such
They cannot be removed

You must remember this
A kiss is still a kiss
A sigh is just a sigh
The fundamental things apply
As time goes by

And when two lovers woo
They still say, "I love you"
On that you can rely
No matter what the future brings
As time goes by

Moonlight and love songs
Never out of date
Hearts full of passion
Jealousy and hate
Woman needs man
And man must have his mate
That no one can deny

Well, it's still the same old story
A fight for love and glory
A case of do or die
The world will always welcome lovers
As time goes by
Oh yes, the world will always welcome lovers
As time goes by...' Andy Williams version of Herman Hupfeld's CLASSIC

HAPPY BIRTHDAY GLEN CAMPBELL!

I KNOW, I KNOW...Glen Campbell? I used to think the same thing about the guy (although I did LOVE the 9 or ten number one hit songs he had in his lifetime, with 'Gentle on My Mind' PROBABLY being my favorite. But here's the thing about this 'Rhinestone Cowboy', he was 'a studio musician in Los Angeles, spending several years playing with the group of instrumentalists'. Campbell played on recordings by the Beach Boys, Bobby Darin, Frank Sinatra, Ricky Nelson, Dean Martin, Nat King Cole, the Monkees, Nancy Sinatra, Merle Haggard, Jan and Dean,[19] Bing Crosby, Phil Spector, Sammy Davis Jr., Doris Day, Bobby Vee, The Everly Brothers, Shelley Fabares, The Cascades, Paul Revere & the Raiders, Wayne Newton, The First Edition, The Kingston Trio, Roger Miller, Gene Clark, Lou Rawls, Claude King, Lorne Greene, Ronnie Dove and Elvis Presley.' THAT'S SAYIN' SOMETHING, ESPECIALLY IN THAT ERA!!! and singer songwriter Jimmy Webb, NO SLOUCH, himself in the music industry said of Glen Campbell; 'He played with all kinds of genres, with different instrumentation and different styles. If it was a just and righteous world, Glen would be credited as one of the great, seminal influences of all time. He was a secret weapon in the armory of Sixties record producers.' Saw him on a variety show years ago where he played every STRING instrument they had on the stage that day as good as anyone that was considered and expert on most of them and BETTER than most experts on many of those musical instruments, including the piano! Not bad for an Arkansas country boy whose parents were sharecroppers, and who picked cotton to help his parents out financially when he was a boy ('I picked cotton for $1.25 a hundred pounds," Campbell said. "If you worked your tail off, you could pick 80 or 90 pounds a day.'. He died in 2017 at the age of 81, so, he'd be 88 today if he was still livin', 'EVER SMILIN', EVER GENTLE on my MIND!'...

The Country Rock Bluesie sounds of the '60s, '70s, and '80s from Bands such as 'Second Coming', 'The Allmans Bothers Band', 'Great Southern' and 'The Dickey Betts Band' lost the heart and soul of that genre today, when it was announced in Osprey, Florida that Forrest Richard (Dickey) Betts passed away peacefully at the age of 80. His collaborations with the Allman Brothers SKYROCKETED them and 'The Allman Brothers Band to the forefront of 'Southern Rock' and was a distinctive sound on every college campus and rock radio station from 1970 after te release of 'The Allman Brothers - Live at Fillmore East' (with hits like 'In Memory of Elizabeth Reed' through 1971 after the death of Duane Allman, with hits from the album 'Eat a Peach' that hit no. 4 ('Blue Sky', and the 1973 release “Brothers and Sisters” rose to No. 1 nationally on the back of the countrified Betts-penned single “Ramblin’ Man,” which peaked at No. 2. Betts went on to write the Allman’s No. 29 single “Crazy Love” (1979) and co-authored the act’s last top-40 single, “Straight From the Heart” (No. 39, 1981). In honor of Dickey Betts, his definitive performance of 'In Memory of Elizabeth Reed' from 'The Allman Brothers - at Fillmore East', all 13:04 minutes of it, were played locally on a radio station, here this afternoon...Rest in PEACE, guitar man!

I concur that there are SO many unexplainable situations that occur fairly REGULARLY on this site. And I've thrown my two cents worth of opinions into discussion on VARIOUS subjects in this regard on occasion. I've also experienced a 'FAIR' share of them myself with NO EXPLANATION form the 'powers that be' of this site.
HOW is it that on the 'Home Page' it shows that I have '87 members' in 'My Hotlist', and YET, when I click on 'My Hotlist' there are 6, SIX, the number between 5 and 7, S-I-X, profiles that come up? Click on any number of 'drop down' features you wish, SIX profiles are ALL that are available. And to add insult to injury (okay, I'm not REALLY injured, or hurt, but it does FRUSTRATE the hell out of me!), I've 'Hotlisted' two or three profile in the last three or four days, AND THEY'RE NOT AMONG THE SIX THAT ARE SHOWN! WHY? And here's a BETTER question WHY, WHY AM I STILL ON THIS FORSAKEN SITE? SHEESH....

'Hoverin, by my suitcase, tryin to find a warm place to spend the night Heavy rain fallin, seems I hear your voice callin, Its all right! A rainy night in Georgia, a rainy night in Georgia It seems like its rainin all over the world I feel like its rainin all over the world

Neon signs a-flashing, taxi cabs and buses passing through the night A distant moaning of a train seems to play a sad refrain to the night A rainy night in Georgia, such a rainy night in Georgia Lord, I believe its raining all over the world I feel like its raining all over the world

How many times I wondered It still comes out the same No matter how you look at it or think of it Its life and you just got to play the game

I find me a place in a box car, so I take my guitar to pass some time Late at night when its hard to rest I hold your picture to my chest and I feel fine (minor scat) But its a rainy night in Georgia, woman, its a rainy night in Georgia I feel its raining all over the world, kinda lonely now And its raining all over the world

Oh, have you ever been lonely, people? And you feel that it was raining all over this mans world Youre talking bout raining, raining, raining, raining, raining, rainin', raining, raining, raining, raining, raining, raining...' Otis Rush, 1976, from the album 'Right Place, Wrong Time

A quote by the 'Mexican Bandit' (Frank Silvera) in the movie 'HOMBRE', starring Paul Newman, Frederick March, Richard Boone, and Diane Cilento, among others...
And, with the miracles of modern medicine, a quote I made yesterday as I came out of the cloud of anesthesia in the recovery ward to the attending nurse, after some surgery I had, prior to my discharge. In and out surgery, sent home on the same day! What a way to go, short of any complications, this is the BEST way to recover, in the comfort of your own home without all the noise and interruptions throughout the day and night during overnight stays in a Hospital!

'Sign, sign
Everywhere a sign
Blockin' out the scenery
Breakin' my mind
Do this, don't do that
Can't you read the sign?
Now, hey you, mister, can't you read?
You got to have a shirt and tie to get a seat
You can't even watch, no, you can't eat
You ain't supposed to be here
The sign said, "You've got to have a membership card
To get inside" ...' 'Signs' by Five Man Electrical Band, written by Les Emerson

ALT is starting to remind me of this song, every day I log on and find more and more restrictions for 'standard members'...

The World of Crackers Has Lost a Giant Rest in power.

Crackers...not necessarily the BIGGEST subject you'll read about on this site, but I was disappointed to read the article on line about 'Red Oval Farms Stoned Wheat thins' after not being able to find them in any of my usual 'grocery haunts'. And apparently, finding a GOOD quality replacement for them isn't going to be easy, either. They were my 'go to' crackers of choice, good with anything that you like to put on or enjoy crackers to accompany, such as soups, or chili con carne, or a slice of cheese (choose any type, those crackers never met a cheese they didn't compliment well!). On explanation was given for their demise, I had thought, perhaps, that rising fuel costs made them a product that was discontinued at the local stores, but others mentioned in the online article that Nabisco responded: “They’ve recently been delisted. We apologize for any disappointment and will let the team know you asked about them.”...
