Rising to the Occasional Need To Loaf The urge overcame me earlier this evening so I baked bread. I do this somewhat frequently. It’s not as complicated as it sounds. I make the dough in my food processor so it’s fairly effortless. There’s something about bread that makes me feel connected. I know it’s not the food of choice these days with concerns about starchy diets etc. but it fulfills me and is a basic need in my life. As was pointed out to me, it seems science and the Bible agree about the occurrence of a great flood. The result of the flood brought grasses and it was discovered the grain from wheat could be used to produce bread. Up until this point, people had to move freely in constant search of food. The discovery of bread suddenly made it possible to stay in one place. This very fact is the beginning of civilization. With bread in hand, we found time for intellectual pursuits and other pleasures. Without bread, it’s unlikely we would have bdsm! See how important bread really is? Alright, that all sounded really good but the truth is, I just like bread! Don’t get me started on butter. We all know we wouldn’t have had the Last Tango if it wasn’t for that. Mr. Brando should’ve known you have to use unsalted butter. |

Kitty, that's an interesting theory. Maybe they both happened at the same time at the discovery of yeast and its byproduct, alcohol. The bread would've made them very thirsty. Ergo bibamus!

Your recipe for rolls looks incredible! I see you used mashed potatoes to force the food processor issue. It turns them into a gluey consistency sadly. I guess you found a way to ensure I have to knead by hand! I'm sure it's worth it though. I'm going to try your recipe sometime this winter!
