Can you name the movie from which this great quote came?

"A man doesn't tell a woman what to do. She tells herself."

Please feel free to leave a favorite quote of yours too if you please.

I love that quote buonasera. I anxiously await your favorite quote!

While we're waiting, how about we amuse ourselves with this one:

"There must be something between us, even if it's only an ocean."

Naughty, it's Al Pacino saying it in Scent of a Woman. That was a great movie!

Here's the whole quote:

Women! What can you say? Who made 'em? God must have been a fuckin' genius. The hair... They say the hair is everything, you know. Have you ever buried your nose in a mountain of curls... just wanted to go to sleep forever? Or lips... and when they touched, yours were like... that first swallow of wine... after you just crossed the desert. Tits. Hoo-ah! Big ones, little ones, nipples staring right out at ya, like secret searchlights. Mmm. Legs. I don't care if they're Greek columns... or secondhand Steinways. What's between 'em... passport to heaven. I need a drink. Yes, Mr Sims, there's only two syllables in this whole wide world worth hearing: pussy. Hah! Are you listenin' to me, son? I'm givin' ya pearls here.

buonasera, that was from The Philadelphia Story. I think we've all had some of those days and that is wise advice when they come!

beautifultrouble, we may need a hint for yours. I really like the quote though.

Kitty, yours is from Frida, a movie I really enjoyed. Salma Hayek worked very hard for years to get that movie produced.

Alright beautifultrouble, is the actor Cary Grant?

Does someone have another quote in the meantime?

Ooh, I have one inspired by the fashion tips from [blog slavekat69]

Do you prefer "fashion victim" or "ensembly challenged"?

buonasera, that was Sideways and I really liked that movie and the wine metaphor. Great quote!

These three quotes remain unsolved:

from beautifultrouble,

"Well, it's a million tiny little things that, when you add them up, they meant that we were supposed to be together, and I knew it. I knew it the very first time I touched her. It was like coming home, only to no home I'd ever known. I was just taking her hand to help her out of a car, and I knew it. It was like magic."

from me,

'Do you prefer "fashion victim" or "ensembly challenged"?'

and from Kitty,

"I remember reading somewhere that men learn to love the person they are attracted to and that women become more and more attracted to the person that they love."

Naughty, your quote is from the great film Citizen Kane which I first saw in an art film class in middle school.

As I mentioned to the Poetess in the other movie thread, "All's fair in love, war and trivia!" LOL

Clueless was a really fun teen angst movie with Alicia Silverstone and is a great example of that delayed chemistry I was talking about as she slowly falls in love with the guy she makes fun of throughout the movie!

beautifultrouble, I didn't realize it was a riddle! Cary Grant was an insomniac who grew up very quickly even working as an escort.

Yours is Sleepless In Seattle. I saw that delightful movie but still didn't recognize the quote!

We're all caught up now so more quotes please! Ok, here's one:

"Do you believe in love at first sight? Nah, I betcha don't, you're probably too sensible for that. Or have you ever, like, seen somebody? And you knew that, if only that person *really* knew you, they would, well, they would of course dump the perfect model that they were with, and realize that YOU were the one that they wanted to, just, grow old with. Have you ever fallen in love with someone you haven't even talked to?"

[blog buonasera101], thank you so much for the great dessert recipe! It sounds scrumptious and a perfect finish for the chicken and risotto! YUMMY!!!!!

Here's one from a movie I really enjoyed:

"What are you more afraid of, spending more than two consecutive nights with the same woman, or finding out this thing might not be as crazy as it seems?"

Naughty, I'm feeling soooooo smart right now! Well, clearly this calls for a particularly severe punishment so in honor of Italian culture and the embarassment I've caused it I think a cryptically significant punishment which encompasses Italian history is in order and will be meted out after I meditate on my heinous oversight!

Oh no Naughty, I've been around the sun a few times! Before he stated the correct film, I was going to tread lightly just in case! See, I actually had the perfect punishment, spanking denial! Haha. How can I lose there! hehehehehe

Well, they say the mind is the first thing to go so it may be a signpost.

If you only knew the punishment I've subjected myself to over this! Navigating the painfully slow blogs these days is cruel and unusual to start with so we're all masochists to keep doing it. Secondly, the humiliation should be obvious. And that's just the half of it!

So you're all tied up with no place to go? I can't imagine how you could suddenly find yourself in such a predicament . . . Under other circumstances you would have my sympathy, however, you seem to have developed a pattern of bringing this on yourself so I think I'll have to check in with the rest of the Dom/mes at A Library in the Dungeon to see how you're holding up or being held up or being put through Hell!

Unsolved quotes at the moment:

From voodoo_man1, "Sometimes spaghetti wants to be alone"

From Skariff,

"It's not about
what happened in the past... or what you think might happen in the future.

It's about the ride, for Christ's sake.

There's no point going through
all this crap... if you're not gonna enjoy the ride.

And you know what?
When you least expect it,

something great might come along..."

Thinking about voice chat made me remember this one:

"________ has been studying the art of conversation.
Oh, you're taking a course in conversation?
Yes."

"i've done the vilest things... the foulest things... but i've done them... superbly."

and this one I added:

"________ has been studying the art of conversation.
Oh, you're taking a course in conversation?
Yes."

buonasera101 and voodoo_man1, Big Night sounds like such a fun movie! I have to check it out along with all the movies I've obviously missed out on!

*Grins widely* I love that quote..the first time I saw that movie and heard that I was drinking and damn near choked.

    "Mystic Pizza"

Although it reminds me of a friend once. She told this guy she was falling in love with him .. and he said "I have a hard on now'...needless to say she never saw him again
Yes, that's a personal favorite of mine as well as several others in the movie including "Daddy banging the babysitter is a really old story, Kat; it happens all the time."

I don't blame your friend at all.

Naughty, between being busy with work, some other things and the fact the weather has been quite warm calling me outside to take advantage before the fall fully sets in, I haven't rented it yet but I assure you as soon as I get a chance I will RUN to my local video outlet and check it out! I'm sure I'll love it based on everyone's rave reviews!

From arachne23,

"i've done the vilest things... the foulest things... but i've done them... superbly."

From beautifultrouble,

female: Are you afraid to kiss me?
male: I'm afraid you'll break my heart.
female: Then still your heart, For you are Dear to me.

From ready_to_serve,

"Why me?"
"Well, I know a lot of smart guys, and a few honest ones. And you're both."

I have another to add:

Witnesses? Wife? Girlfriend? Roommate? Hooker?

I am divorced. I am between girlfriends, I live alone and I do NOT use hookers. I actually have no alibi whatsoever. Does that make me a criminal?

No. It makes you lonely and unpopular.

ready_2_serve, it was the General's Daughter.

beautifultrouble, I'm not so sure; your anime film sent me to the four corners right along with the Poetess!

This one was never solved:

From arachne23,

"i've done the vilest things... the foulest things... but i've done them... superbly."
