I thought the obsession with brighter whiter teeth was fairly recent in history until I discovered this poem by the famous ancient Roman Poet Catullus which depicts the practice of teeth whitening with urine by the Gauls. It’s the best argument I’ve ever come across for selling the idea of watersports to someone who frowns on the idea!
