a bird in the hand

there is an old saying,,,a sparrow in thy hand is better than a thousand sparrows flying

there are so many times i will see that someone has a person who cares about them. is loyal and honest. yet they are so certain that there is something better,,,different,,,etc that because they are so very special,,,they want to throw away the good person who is devoted to them, to run after something that is only their ego wanting to be stroked. they may end up "catching" one of those sparrows only to find that what they had was a thousand times more worth and that it is now gone.

why is it some people never grow up and see what they are blessed with?
