The Age of Internet Domming The beauty of the internet....a wealth of knowledge at the touch of a key. In regard to this lifestyle, what it teaches you is that dominating and submitting is easy and almost always fun. All you need to know are the buzz words, the key phrases, and when to say them. Anyone can assume a false online persona, simply by knowing the right words to say. Submissives who have only recently discovered or decided to pursue their sexuality are, as a rule, so sexually and emotionally needy for control, any kind of control, that they fall right over if you assume a stern, forceful demeanor in their cyber-presence and issue the sort of orders that you read about in S/M magazines. It's incredibly easy to dominate someone from a distance. It's so easy, in fact, that many Dom/mes who are not genuinely dominant have discovered that if they put on their stern and pony show, they can have as many no-strings-attached online slaves as they like. The problem comes when such "dominants" begin, as they often do, to believe their own propaganda, even though they've never had any experience in controlling anyone in real life. Eventually, they think that dominating someone in real life is identical to the virtually effortless fantasy play that is conducted online or over the phone. |

I personally have done both RT and online and will say I don't get judgemental about persons personal choices of dealing with there desires. For some it may be all they can manage and if so and helps them in life more power to them. As long as no one gets hurt in all of it and all parties involved are happy then be happy for them.

M.Desiree, Most interesting observations, and from my perspective, quite well addressed. I wonder though, why has it been such a long period since Your last writing? They are as with your photo, a most stimulating tease to one's imagination.

It's my opinion based on what I've seen with the majority of "online Dommes" here on Alt is that these people are least of all Dommes. (Since I'm a straight male, I'm personally unfamiliar with the actions of Doms). In fact, the vast majority of these Dommes I speak of are con artists (not even into the D/s scene) who have managed to devise a clever yet ruthless means of separating people from their funds. True there are those subs out there who "get off" on being talked out of their gifts and money, but most are actually lied to that their online play that they are coerced to pay for will lead to real time encounters, which they eventually learn never occurs. I have little regard for these online predators although I know that there are some Doms/mes who are sincere and do truly care about the welfare of their online subs. It just appears to me that Alt has the distinction of being subjected to an overwhelming number of these so-called Dommes due to the nature of online D/s play. It's too bad that more can't be done about it.
