Because sometimes you turn a corner and run into something like this!

My good friend moved there. His Japanese wife is a big help.

Many Japanese structures like that have fantastic wood joinery and no nails.

Howling at the moon and mal ad osteo.

Quoting VladVampireLord There is a defunct Japanese steak house that looks almost identical to this in West Orange, NJ.

I even went there a few times back in the day...

There's a very elaborate Japanese steak place called Mt. Fuji in Hillburn, NY, just across the state line from West Orange that is somewhat similar. Not a castle, however. I once thought about having a reception there, but decided against it because I couldn't get a big enough room that looked out on the garden.

Check it out. Nice views in the fall.

    Quoting  :

I'd love to be able to guide you around. I spent a month there in August and September and barely scratched the surface.

Photograph of the castle of a minor lord taken in the restored samurai town of Kitsuki, on the coast of Kyushu, Japan in August of this year.
