Got the Vaccine

I got my first shot of the vaccine Tuesday. Moderna. Piece of cake. Had drive 20 minutes to a supermarket. Lots of parking, no waiting. Took an hour and fifteen minutes round trip. I offered to help other people sign up who couldn't master the system. No takers so far. They seem to be waiting for the one-shot variety. I figure it's better to help stop the spread before the South African strain gets a foothold.

Any side effects from it?

Not really. Just what you'd expect from an inoculation; an occasional pain when I moved the arm into an unusual position. I felt a little flushed that night, but not uncomfortable. That could have just been the abnormally heavy pajamas and blankets I was using. .

Good for you..glad you got the moderna one.. it seems the most effective.

Hope you honestly get a chance at the 2nd shot
I've got my appointment already for the second shot on February 23, Leo. Our city government is on the ball about distributing the vaccine efficiently and equitably, so I'm not worried about them coming through.

I hope you get your shot soon. We amateurs don't have much chance of picking out the best one. There are too many factors in play.

I was thinking of you too just the day before yesterday. I was contemplating blowing this popsicle stand and remembering the great people I had met here, both in person and virtually. My diplomatic training tells me not to say who my favorite is, but we both know, don't we? I'll be in touch again soon.

I hope you and those you love get the vaccine soon. This damn plague is definitely not something to play around with.

I don't blame you. I see they've got the South African strain in Maryland now. That's a little too close for comfort.

'm happy for you, J. It's nice to know that you're part of the solution. (((Huggs)))

Thanks, M. It's great to be able to be even a tiny part of the solution. There are so many more that we owe so much more to and many others who sadly didn't get the chance I did.

I hope your turn comes real soon. Stay safe.

I cannot wait to get vaccinated. My 82 year old sponsor received the Pfizer vaccination on Friday. He has mild flu-like symptoms now.

Stay safe and healthy.

Thanks for the good wishes. I hope you stay safe and healthy too.

I didn't have any abnormal reaction at all. Just a little flushed the first night and an ache in the arm a couple of times when I moved it wrong. Hope your sponsor is ok.

It's a relief to get the process started. Hope you don't have to wait long. It's not looking all that great with the hospitals overflowing and all the creepy new varieties they keep talking about.

Thanks Jenny. Being a bear of little brain, I had to put my whole mind to it.

I hope you get vaccinated soon. Stay safe.

People have mentioned weeping when they received theirs. I was more pumped and grateful while trying to maintain some detachment. We still have a rough road ahead, but there is a ray of hope. We need it.

Dreamcatcher__ replies on 1/31/2021 6:07 pm:
We do need it. It's been a needlessly rough ride. At least we know that help is on the way, thanks to a lot of folks who have made great sacrifices that we can never thank them enough for.

The folks who administered the vaccine made is seem so routine that it was hard to get pumped. But it was definitely a relief and really easy to be grateful and tell them so.

Stay safe ad keep up the good work. Good luck with your article.
