 Is this the part where we wish everyone and their dog a Merry Christmas?

Dude .... There's nothing wrong with wishing the entire peanut gallery a Merry Christmas. Tis the season.

I did have a question to throw out to everyone too. I was wondering the, shall we say, methodology everyone uses for opening Christmas presents. When I was a child, we got to open one present on Christmas Eve and the rest on Christmas morning. As my daughter was growing up, this same methodology applied.


And now that you're theoretically not a child any longer?

My wife has a large extended family and we gather on Christmas Eve for the gift exchanges & openings. When that cluster is over and we get home, as with my youth, my wife and I get to open one present from each other on Christmas Eve and the rest on Christmas morning.

So do you still sneak around late at night or early in the morning and do the Sandy Claus thing by putting something unwrapped under the tree?

Maybe .... I do make sure I fill your stocking with coal.

Awwww fuck! More coal this year?

Yeah ..... But not as much.

 We've always done family gifts Christmas eve and Santa in the morning, I think it was a grandparent thing that started it that way. We always went to the grandparents for Christmas eve

I grew up as an Army brat living here and there and, accordingly, we were never near grandparents, or other family, for the Christmas Eve gift exchanges.

Yeah ... It was totally the one present thing.

And trust me .... I examined and shook every present to assure I opened the right one on Christmas Eve.

Never got fooled and opened underwear or socks?

Never. Come to think of it, I don't remember ever getting underwear or socks for Christmas. Parents would do that to their children?

Well, only if they're masochists.

 As a child we opened a present every night for about two weeks leading into Christmas. And then everything else on Christmas Eve. I think because my father couldn't wait it was his favorite holiday. I did not grow up in any organized religion so we never abided by any traditionalized reasons. Just that my Father was a kid at heart. Merry Christmas to you Plz. Smiles L
