Will miracles never cease? It appears ALT is making an attempt to improve the IM. So I see. When one clicks on the IM icon, one sees a new box saying Welcome to Your New Instant Messenger! with a couple of explanations/directions. One tells you about being able to IM a person from any screen if there is an icon on their profile showing they're signed onto the IM. The other tells you about having received an IM. The third icon from the left on the top of your screen will indicate an incoming IM, regardless of where within ALT you might be. Yeah, but we've been around ALT long enough to know there's a vast difference between the way things are supposed to work and the way they actually do. Good point. Although I'm taking things with a grain of salt, I am at least glad ALT is apparently attempting to make the IM system functional and user friendly. They need to deep six the need to use 'points' to have an IM conversation. Uh, yeah. That sucks for standard members. People having to accumulate or buy points is a pain in the ass. People comment on blogs, not to add to the conversation, but for points .... And flood the blogs with BS blogs for points ... How fun is that for everyone? ALT has a long way to go and many problems & deficiencies to address and fix. Perhaps this IM business indicates they're at least trying ...... Make Women Female Again

Well look at you looking at Alt as half full  I have had that notification on my IM for about three weeks. Every single time you open IM you get it. It's like they think we can't remember something for more than thirty seconds LOL. IM does seem to work a little better. You can initiate conversations, but at least four times now it has cacked out in the middle of a conversation. I'm still thinking with make the princess's cam room the official chat location You found parts of me I didn’t know existed and in you I found a love I no longer believed was real.

Let's hope so. Seems every time I spend points to respond to an IM, I get nothing. Dead silence. I go on cam for those who would like to contact me but even that is seriously iffy. Huge lags, Drops, no sound, Ect

Every single time you open IM you get it. G'morning slim....  Yeah, and I suppose that'll continue forever. It provides new members information.Slim! What up? Yep .... The pop-up is going to be standard operating procedure from now on I'd wager. IM does seem to work a little better. Well look at you looking at ALT as half full..... LOL  Smart ass! Be careful, cuz Becky will bitch slap you in a second.  Cacked out in the middle of a conversation. How odd (standard) is that? Rome, nor a functional & dependable ALT IM, is not made in one day (Year? Decade?).... I did mention a grain of salt......  Make Women Female Again

At least if the IM worked as advertised I'd get a reply from a fake or scammer the first time because they would really be there and would soon discover what they were and eliminate them. Instead I end up sending lots of useless messages to IM ghosts pissing away points I try to get through genuine participation. AND when I finally find someone worth a chat and have spent the points happily, the IM craps out and we never get to finish a productive chat. I really haven't noticed any improvement, and that is from someone who actually paid for membership many years ago. Not now.

The IM could be perfect, but it does not matter if the only people on it are fakes and scammers. Is it only to spread the word that Alt is useless? It seems like you despise everything about the site, the members, the platform, and the functionality. So why not just close the tab and not return? You found parts of me I didn’t know existed and in you I found a love I no longer believed was real.
