We all played that card game as children - Did we not peanut gallery? Go Fish, War and Old Maid are probably the three most common card games for whipper snappers. We progress from there. Speaking of going fishing, do we have many fishermen here? (Do I have to also say fisherwomen or is fishermen gender neutral?) I used to fish as a kid, but never became 'avid' about it. When I did fish more, I was NEVER one to sit on the bank, in a boat or otherwise remain stationary. I ONLY stream fish where one goes from hole to hole, jumping rock to rock, getting your feet wet, getting a bruise or two. Give me a challenge! So would this be considered 'ice fishing' ya suppose? Fishing to me was always just drinking beer. An indication of just how good I was at it.

I used to fish a lot, not as much anymore. I've spent plenty of time fishing from boats, off shores and wading. I always enjoyed it regardless of my success. Alone, or with friends, and a few beers never hurt.

I fish quite often and I think the term fisherman is just fine. Lots of nice Snook, Jack and Mangrove snapper to be found in these parts.

They are looking for the palm tree that was on their island before the island started melting. Everyone knows beer grows on trees.

If I was just sitting and waiting I agree it would be boring. I never went out in a boat and did not move around. Most bodies of water have different fish and different techniques, baits, depth etc. Fish also move around so I agree if a spot is not working you might need to move. Or maybe I just like slowly torturing worms.

Fishing is cool if I have someone to do all the yucky stuff like bait my hook for me- and tend to any fish I manage to stumble into catching....

I'm being to think I had a deprived childhood! I can remember the name 'old maid,' although I can't think how to play it. But I've never heard of 'go fish' or 'war.' I had a workmate who said fishing was nice & relaxing, sitting on the bank in the sun. I'm sure it is, I just don't get why you need to drag all that equipment with you.
