You're right, I'm talking about wrapping Christmas presents.
I'm one of those odd people who think it's more personal to wrap a person's gift, rather than stuff it in a bag with some colored paper tucked around the top. So shoot me.

This year, I've encountered two 'difficulty factors' that have made wrapping a present on the floor next to impossible. Their names are Cap'n Jack and The Little Monkey ..... our new four and five month old kitties. Gawd ... They are always into everything and you can literally do nothing without them thinking they need to assist.

If anything moves (think wrapping paper), they pounce. If they're not pouncing on the paper, they're pouncing on one another and convening a wrestling match right in the middle of what I'm doing. As cute as they are, they're a royal pain in the ass when I'm wrapping presents!

I have taken to making as much room on the kitchen counter as I can and wrapping presents there. That presents it's own challenges with getting the paper rolled out and cutting it. The kitties even come to help when I'm doing that, but it's not too hard to put them back on the floor. They've made me consider the use of bags!!!!! If I did, they'd be jumping in and out of those, though. Ya just can't win.

I used to have to shut the door when I was trying to wrap presents but that brought on it's own set of issues.

Yeah ... Like closing the bathroom door... Under the door come all sorts of kitty paws.

They do not enjoy not knowing what's going on.

Ahhh the joys of having kitties Plz!

Just enjoy the humor they provide you everyday! And ignore the rest...
Good luck!

Yeah .... There's WAY more upside than there is downsize.

Even when they're being pests, they're funny as hell.

Wrapping Christmas presents sounds like a circus with all those mischevious kittens to deal with Ha!!!

I used to have one very temperamental cat, and it was impossible to do anything without him. One year, for the same purpose - wrapping presents - I left him in the kitchen, behind closed doors... and it was the last time. No need to say, the kitchen was like the war zone... it was whether to cry or to laugh as he was at the top of the kitchen cabinets knowing exactly what he has done... I haven't tried it again though

Yeah, I know. I've had beaucoup cats through life nd I know they can get pissed at you. When they do, they're vengeful little turds. I had one poop in my shoe one time.

I convinced him that was the wrong form of vengeance to take. He got his bottom warmed up pretty good.

I wrapped two gifts. The cat was nonplussed about it all. She went back to her favorite spot. Never bothered me a bit. Now other cats who I have had in the past, would have been guilty as charged.

The older cat, Tubby, was quite content to just watch. Her 'playing with wrapping paper' days are behind her. She was probably commiserating with me because the kitties pester her too a lot of the time.

They're lucky she's good natured and puts up with them - for the most part. She's much larger than they are, so she wins any wrestling match she wants to.

I am with you, I like the wrapping. While I do not have felines to interrupt, I also wrap presents for a friend. She has two. One hides and one gives me the stink-eye because he cannot get/stay on the table while I am wrapping. So he'll sit giving me the stink-eye until he gets bored and wanders off.

I should be so lucky as to only get the stink-eye. My two coordinate for maximum disruption. They either decide to go after things independently or they decide to have a wrestling match in the middle of what I'm doing.

A comrade in arms for wrapping. It may be becoming a lost art to the paper bag route. Good for you!
