I liken having to call customer service/support to playing a game of Russian Roulette. Are you going to be connected to a person you can understand, or is that person going to have a foreign accent so thick that understanding what they're saying is nearly impossible. It makes me crazy some of the time.

Yeah ... And the Russian Roulette starts after you've had to spend ten minutes punching numbers to be able to speak to an actual human being. Gawd ... Why does it have to be so complicated? I know the big corporations save money by utilizing foreign labor, but you'd think they'd not want their customers so pissed off when they have a problem to resolve.

I don't remember what company it was from, but I remember seeing an advertisement recently where they add in the fact that their customer service representatives are from the USA - I'm sure to inform people they'll be able to understand them if they call in with a problem. I remember thinking that was smart of them.

Yeah ... Smart move. I know the foreign representatives are trying their best to help people out and are undoubtedly great people in their own right .... But I want to be able to easily understand what people are saying. You're already frustrated from having the problem in the first place, then punching in 10,000 numbers on your phone .... Then you get someone you can barely understand??? WTF

Sometimes if you press 0 it will take you to a human. I hate that whole process so much, too.

You're right .... Some of the time when I get fed up, I press '0' about a billion times.

Then it sometimes says, "I understand you want to talk to a representative, if this is correct, press 1" ....... Ahhhhhh

Sometimes it's not the hoops you have to jump through, it's the time spent getting to the hoops. I called social security a few months ago, the wait time was just over 70 minutes. Once I got a human, my questions were answered in about 2 or 3 minutes.

Some places now have a feature where they will call you back when someone is available to help you. GREAT idea!!!!

The accents......the accents are my pet peeve! I have listened to 20 min of horrible music and now I can't understand a damn thing the tech is trying to say.

Yeah ... Either terrible music or some sort of advertising.

I see you're quite familiar with 'the process' and have undoubtedly suffered through it many times. WAIT - Do you train these people?

That reminds me of the music and verbiage combo. Awful music for a while and then they chime in with yet another "All our representatives are currently assisting other customers. Please stay on the line for the next available representative."..... Music.
