 We all do it ..... Well, most of us do it ..... We put on the mask and/or modify our behavior depending on the company we're with. Unless you're 100% 'out' with your lifestyle choices, we need to be discreet a lot or most of the time. How about a dinner with you and your partner and your parents .... Warning Will Robinson.

I hear you .... There are VERY few people who know about my proclivities or participation in the lifestyle. Besides, who needs to know other than a small circle of friends//acquaintances? I don't feel the need to advertise it.

I know - Right? I put my participation in the lifestyle on a 'need to know' basis. I think most people have everyone in their family and/or circle of friends on a 'need to know' basis about anything that happens in their personal lives. How many times has someone asked you about something in your personal life and the answer is generally "Mind your own business."

Roger that. Some people are just nosey and seemingly lack the 'tact' gene. ""How much did your engagement ring cost?" or "Did your parents help with the down payment on your house?" Jeezus! Those are certainly in the "Mind your own f*cking business!!!" category.

 I have a BFF that I can be very open with but there are a few things she does not need to know. I wish I was a fly on the wall when the time comes for my family to clean out my house

Who wants to get bogged down describing something to a person who lacks the ability or knowledge to comprehend it?

For sure ... "Need to know" is applicable to just about every area of our lives. It goes hand in hand with "Don't ask - Don't tell". Mind and go about your own business and life gets simplified.

"Live and let live" fits in there somewhere too. Personally, I think right now too many people are in the 'In Your Face' mode. That only begets people shifting into the 'Get Out Of My Face!' mode ..... Vicious circle.

 Same here, no need to advertise. I am generally like this with most things really.

I enjoy what I enjoy and that information is generally limited to a few, and of course, those who will be victims... ah... willing participants. GW makes a good point. Trying to explain to someone who cannot understand or at least be open-minded can be tiresome.
