I'm late - I'm late - For a very important date. No time to say "Hello" ... "Good-bye" I'm late, I'm late, I'm late!

Isn't that what that rabbit dude says/sings in Alice in Wonderland? It's a good thing daylight savings time begins on a Sunday. If it was on a Monday morning, I'm sure a lot of people would be late to work, etc.

Personally, I wish they'd just leave well enough along with the time of day. I'm sure there was/is a perfectly logical reason it was adopted in the first place, but geez. I think it had something to do with ranchers & farmers and cows, but don't quote me.

Well, I'm neither of those and i don't own any cows .... Keep your hands off my clocks! I do like that it stays lighter later in the day.... Maybe I ought to just shut my pie hole.

I'm with you Plzr - let's quit fiddling with the clocks every six months! Our ancestors got along fine without dicking around with the clocks.

That's true - I don't think the pioneers messed with their watches/clocks.

I think where the sun sat in the sky dictated most of their daily activities..

I'm with you on this one, pick a damn time and stick with it. I'll be screwed up yet again, for at least a week. Great post.

It does take a while to acclimate to the change in time. We go to breakfast every Sunday morning .... Today we're heading out an hour sooner. Ugh.

I know - My stomach hasn't told me I'm hungry yet .....

I agree. Pick a time and stick with it. I think Arizona never changes their clocks.

Plzrmeister replies on 3/10/2024 7:16 am:
I 'think' you're right about Arizona.

Apparently they don't have any ranchers, farmers or cows....

Although the day has already become a little longer, hence lighter, I can't wait for the last weekend in March when the time will be switched to "summer" counting as they call it here... let there be sun... all day long

Plzrmeister replies on 3/10/2024 7:19 am:
The more sun, the more people will be able to see you with less clothing on - I like that thought!

Did you mean 'Spring' vs 'Summer'? Spring starts on the 19th. Summer starts June 20th on my calendar.....

100% agreement.

Ryder is correct, my sister lives in Arizona and she often boasts about being on the correct side of this pesky issue.

A little too often for my taste.

Who knew it would be the Azironans who'd get things right.

Two time changes per year are two too many.

No, I meant Summer... it is what they call that clock and time switching thing - Summer time starting last weekend in March and Winter time starting last weekend in October... just used common terminology.

Plzrmeister replies on 3/10/2024 10:51 am:
You obviously utilize a different calendar and perhaps terminology than I do Time changes twice a year .... March 10 and November 3 - Neither of these dates coincide with the dates the four seasons officially change. Perhaps Europe and the USA operate with different calendars?

My calendar has the four seasons starting as follows: Spring - March 19; Summer - June 20; Fall/Autumn - September 23; Winter - Dec 21. Want to arm wrestle about it?

Like others, I appreciate it when it is later longer. They need to stop changing the clocks though. I have also heard one of the points against stopping is the darkness in the morning and kids walking to school. Reflective gear and perhaps a change of school times may be a better solution for that. Really, with the advent of electricity and flashlights... there is no need anymore.

I slept in today. We'll see what happens in the morning.

Good points all .... Ugh - I have the clocks in the microwave and my car to change ... Two wall clocks also..

Don't ask me how, but my built in 'body clock' apparently reset itself. I normally get up ( meaning the cat normally wakes me up ) at 0430. This morning my body clock woke me up at 0430 ..... Which would normally be 0330, until yesterday. We'll have to see what happens tomorrow.

As I sit here reflecting on the changing daylight, I can't help but think about how my relationship with it has evolved over the years. When I was younger and used to go out frequently, I remember how the extra hour of drinking time at bars was something that I looked forward to. However, as time has passed, my priorities have shifted, and I have learned to appreciate the longer daylight hours for different reasons.

Nowadays, I find myself looking forward to the longer days that come with Spring. It's refreshing to see the sun shining even after a long day at work. It's as if the world is waking up from a long slumber, and there's a sense of renewed energy in the air. I'm grateful for the opportunity to enjoy the outdoors and participate in activities that the warmer weather allows.

As I look out the window and watch the sun setting later each day, I'm reminded that the long, cold, and grey winter is almost over.

Great Topic!

Reading your entire comment reinforces the fact you have a way with words. This sentence sums up the coming of Spring in all its glory.

Trees budding, flowers sprouting and the birds chirping .... The long, cold and grey winter is indeed almost over.

My calendar has as yours the four seasons starting as follows: Spring - March 19; Summer - June 20; Fall/Autumn - September 23; Winter - Dec 21. No need to arm wrestle about it, Plzr.
I was talking about the terms used for switching clocks and the time we do it here where I live, as that was the topic and whether we like it or not.
Hope this helps to understand me better.

Couldn't we just arm wrestle for fun?
