OK peanut gallery .... Raise your hand if you're a member of Amazon. I'm a prime member and although not a 'shopaholic', I do purchase quite a bit through them. I'd say the bulk of the items I purchase are dog and cat treats, which I have on a 'subscription' basis. I just discovered this morning that I'm out of LED light bulbs, so I'll be hitting Amazon later this morning.

My hand is raised .... I'm an Amazon Prime member and also use a credit card issued through Amazon. I pretty much never pay cash for anything ... with a few exceptions. As such, 99% of everything I buy goes on the credit card and I accumulate a lot of points each month to use as credits on my Amazon account.

Amazon generally always follows up with a survey on my satisfaction level with a product I've purchased through them. I'm not a survey taker, so I've never responded to them yet. I don't know about any of you, but I get requests for a lot of surveys from different vendors. Generally speaking, I delete them .... although I do get a wild hair every now and then and respond to one.

Am I being sexist to assume the following Amazon survey came from a lady? I don't want anyone getting all butt hurt ( pun? ) and telling me this could just as easily been submitted by a dude. Do you suppose Amazon starting listing this item under 'mobile bird perches' based on this review? I'd wager more than one review reader might have thought .... "Now there's one way I can kill two birds with one stone". Geez - Puns abound.

I do enjoy how Amazon is now charging for ad-free movies on prime ...

I haven't watched any movies on Prime, so I'm not familiar with that.

Me either .....

Yeah, that irked me as well. Especially after raising the yearly rate.

But it does seem like it is usually just 1:30 seconds or so before the movies and none during the showing. Still better than regular broadcast TV, that's 15 min of ads each hour.

I watch 'zero' TV shows live. I always record the shows I enjoy and watch them later ..... Even the news. As they're recorded, I can fast forward through the advertisements. Soooooo much simpler.

I have Dish Network as my provider and they eliminate the advertisements for me on certain shows I record. It funny actually .... When you start the show, they ask if you want to skip through all the advertisements. Well, DUH! Are there people on Earth that wouldn't choose to do so?

Ok, let's try this again... my original comment was banned due to "solicitation"

Raises hand. Yep, Prime member here.
It is very convenient to order through them and most times, I can get a better price. I also can appreciate the other Prime benefits, such as the music, movies, etc... Now the surveys ... nah, not a fan. I typically ignore them for products, unless I have something to say that is different from the other reviews. For services, I like to do them when I get excellent service, though everyone wants a review.

And I hear ya... I am a fan of points too. I have a system with a few specific vendors and enjoy the extra points for money I am going to spend anyway.

ALT has been acting odd lately - As usual. The last couple days, my blog is posted - then disappears - then reappears. WTF? The first time ( this blog ) I figured it was because I had posted the Amazon logo or something. Then it reappeared, so scratch that theory.

When I take my car in to the dealer for an oil change, tire rotations, etc. I always get request to take a survey. I did it once or twice, but they don't understand the concept of a 'short' survey ..... so I quit responding. Now if they gave me a $ credit for the next survey, I might do them again.
