We all see the term tossed around on ALT, don't we .... either in the blogs and/or profiles or elsewhere. I've never given too much thought to what actually constitutes being a 'brat' and I'm sure everyone's definition will vary, as it does with so much of the BDSM terminology. When I saw this meme, it got the gears inside my head grinding, so I thought I'd bring the subject before the peanut gallery. I'm with you - I've never given it too much thought either. I've always enjoyed playful and witty banter .... verbal volleyball, if you will, so I definitely desire a submissive with a little spunk. When does having some spunk turn into being a brat .... I couldn't tell you .... That's something everyone would have to determine for themselves. Logic would dictate to me that the more rules you have for your submissive, the more opportunity you give them to, shall we say, rebel or be 'bratty'. Of course there are different dimensions of being submissive - Some relish as much micromanagement as possible, while others desire very little. Micromanage the latter, and you're going to have problems on your hands. I've never been big on rules. Hell - The more rules you have, the more you have to keep track of .... No thanks. Micromanagement? Not my cup of tea. Give me someone with their head screwed on straight with common sense, common courtesy and a deep seeded desire to submit. That seems the perfect co-pilot to me.
