Star wars questions ( general) has nothing to do with new movie etc There is no spoilers ...I didn't get a chance to see the new movie These are just general star wars questions.. We were told that one can't just become a jedi...one has to have a certain number of the midichlorines in one's blood? ( an indicator of how much force a person posses). Ergo it is nature over nurture....you can't become something you aren't. So this means the local idiot of the community could really be the next jedi? Funny how Qui Jon frees annie but doesn't save his mom...if the force is genetic ( darth vader/luke/leah/leah's in the books etc are all jedi)...then shouldn't annie's mom be filled with the force? ( either that or the guy that fucked the mom must be overloaded with force spunk). Shouldn't qui jon be trying to find that guy? ( hell if that was the case qui jon could create his own stable of jedis without wondering the galaxy) We are told that there are only two evil "jedi"..a master and his apprentice... Soo what happens to the other douchecanoes jedi then...does the council kill them off? send them to some backwater planet to patrol? make them part of the TSA? and why would the evil side limit themselves to just two members? I mean this would be like me choosing an all time nfl team and saying NOPE can't have Joe montana because I already chose 1 sf 49 player already ( jerry rice). If Jedi were this powerful then why wouldn't the dark side want more of them? and if the jedi are "billy badass" then how did a handfull of humans ambush them /kill them off. Sure Annie killed a few jedi...but the movie clearly showed others being ambushed/shot by mere humans etc. What good is it to be a jedi if a mere blaster/a fall can kill you? What is the purpose of the jedi? are they a religious order..are they super cops..are they really philosopher kings? |

A religious order, similar to Warrior Monks in the ancient east (Star Wars is pretty much a movie about Samurai, if you think about it). And while they are "more powerful" than a "mere human", they are, at the base, just that. Merely human. Thus given to foibles of all humans. Such as overconfidence - leading to being defeated by someone far lesser than they. As for only "two evil Jedi", I think you mean Sith (not the same as Jedi). Dark Jedi are Jedi who have turned to the Dark Side of the Force, and let their emotions empower them, instead of constraining them (think Romulan compared to Vulcan) - Sith are a Powerful Subset of Dark-side Force Users, who all but wiped themselves out millennia ago... "Recognizing that it was Sith greed and in-fighting that led to their destruction, Darth Bane created the Rule of Two so the Sith could operate in secret, using subterfuge to plot their revenge against the Jedi." The Rule of Two says: Only two Sith could exist at any given time: a Dark Lord of the Sith to embody power, and an apprentice to crave it. All this was because of an ages old Revenge plot by the Sith... The Sith carried out their vendetta for a thousand years, gaining power in secret while the Jedi had believed that the Sith were destroyed. The Sith finally revealed themselves during the Trade Federation's invasion of Naboo,(Episode 1 - Phantom Menace) after which they orchestrated the Clone Wars so Supreme Chancellor Sheev Palpatine—secretly the Dark Lord, Darth Sidious—could destroy the Jedi and transform the Galactic Republic into the Galactic Empire. The Sith ruled the galaxy (as the Emperor of the Galactic Empire) for 23 years (Episodes 4-6 - The Original Trilogy) )until they were destroyed by a redeemed Anakin Skywalker—who had been Darth Vader—who sacrificed himself to kill Palpatine during the Battle of Endor.
