valentines' day or better known as a man's balls in the crusher day hi all, I really was interested in what women really expect out of valentines' day/out of a man. It is especially interesting this year because v day falls on the weekend and the big show off day at work would logically be friday? We ( men) have been bombarded with radio/tv ads that proclaim we are complete idiots and need to run out and buy diamonds/chocolate covered berries/roses in order to make it up to women. Funny how there never is that full court press/that pressure put on a woman. There is no ads to buy your man x/y/ or z on that day. If a man gets the wrong gift then he is just an insensitive jerk..if he gets the right gift then he is the most romantic guy alive.. It just seems like the whole day revolves around competition...who gets roses at work..whose man is the best...what are you doing for valentine's day etc |

Dear Smile,.....I admire your desire to "be treasured by a gentelman the other 364 days". I'm hoping that you return the "creative, thoughtful action of affection" to him also. After all, We Get What We Give.....at least that's the way it's supposed to be. And I believe you do.

I luv when tv openly mocks Valentine's Day and the boyfriend runs out and buys all the stereotypical things all at once like dozen roses and huge teddy bear and giant box of chocolates etc

Thing 3 recently sent me an email asking....what should I do for V day...and my response was and is.....it isn't what gift your get it's who you spend it with. I'm working V day so not huge issue for me. My bf and i don't make a huge deal of it anyway, just another day for us. Sometimes we get each other gifts but not expected

Yes but do you believe a huge part of v day is the show? By this I mean there is a big reason women all over will be receiving gifts at the office etc on friday instead of sunday. It is to show off in front of other women. If one woman receives roses at the office, then it cast doubts about your own boyfriend.. one end up judging him against another male.
