mouse no more

My mice in the garage problem was getting redunkelous...which is just left of ridiculous. Hell I was down to two traps and ended up catching 6 mice in like a 3 hr time period...one trap actually killed two mice at the same time!...
One mouse ended up setting off two traps..
I switched the bait up to peanutbutter and the mice went crazy for it.

Yet the best solutions are always old school wisdom. I looked online at the best way to rid yourself of mice and the farmers/ranchers and yes cowboys had the best advice...if you want them out then you gotten put something in your garage that they hate.

It was suggested that I get moth balls or ammonia or even pepperment oil and literally spray the fuck out of my garage with it.

I think the real reason the mice never came inside ( my sunken living room is right next to the attached garage) is white vinegar..I use that to clean my carpets instead of shampoo. Sure the house smells of vinegar for like half a day but it really gets the carpets clean and the odor goes away quickly. Plus it doesn't leave any sticky residue.
I'm assuming we humans couldn't smell it after a day but the mice could

So I took some paper towels and douched it with the white vinegar/ I placed the smelly rolled up balls along the baseboards in the garage
AND...

there were no mice in my traps this morning

NOW if it was just me in the house I would literally nuke the garage with smell....and I wasn't quite sure if my roomies would be cool with smelling moth balls etc. ( which probably have the best chance of retaining a smell for months to come)

But apparently that smell is alot better than her going out to the garage to paint/redo her kitchen cabinets and having to deal with mice.

so I'm off today to find some moth balls.. In the meantime I'm filling up a spray bottle with white vinegar and gonna spray the garage this morning.

Like I said this mouse problem is getting redunkleous....to the point where I thought about bringing in an exterminator.

Borrow a neighbor's cat. I had it happen to me; a neighbor wanted to borrow my cat to rid his garage of mice. So we kept Tom the Cat in the garage about a week and mice were gone.
