The oscars

I was sorta shorta shocked by spike lee's reaction to the green book winning best picture.

Sure the truth is distorted..black folks don't need a white male teaching them about black culture..

I get that..

But spike's movie..black klansman isn't a 100 percent truthful to the historical facts either..
He crafted a narrative that better suited a hollywood movie.

Well so did the green book..it played with the actual facts a bit in order to craft a better story.

Yet in one essence spike claims the oscars are racist..

But isn't spike lee pulling the same b.s.

The Oscars have lost their magic. But Spike Lee was right.

I liked Black Panther, I didn't think it should have won best Set Design. I also don't feel the need to have every commercial in Spanish. I get what it's all about. I support all heritages, all races. I think it's just excessive when all of this shit happens at once. I wish the network would actually play multilingual commercials during primetime as part of their regular schedule. Making up for racism or xenophobia by blindly embracing it just for the sake of it is certainly also offensive. I know 'it has to start somewhere' and I don't have a suggestion for a better way, I just know what I saw felt forced and I didn't like it.

No one comes close to Production Designer Ken Adam.
