A black " lil mermaid"

Now i know 99.999 percent of people here assume your boy leo is pissed off that disney casted an African American woman as Ariel.

But ..nope..could care less.

I find the backlash hillarious though..grown ass people are using the hashtag...not my ariel..on twitter.

I find it ironic that disney actively campaigns against white male fans on social media and other websites..like say rotten tomatoes.
The director/ head writer of the current star wars films called the white male fans " man babies".
Brie larson said she didn't want white males seeing her films..capt marvel isnt about them.

And for some reason everyone is cool with white men being replaced/ openly bashed by directors/ ceos/ actors..

Until it happens to them..

So lets bring on diversity then.. I never understood why white women are seen as a minority..why aren't they being replaced by asians, the lgbtq?, Latinas, blacks, the handicapped, Muslims.
Seems like all the woman lead movies....are white.( capt marvel, wonder woman, the ghost busters, etc).

I find it funny how there is backlash to this woman's skin color..( the lil mermaid)
But none to her acting skills..I mean this is a disney film...costing hundreds of millions of dollars.

Surely she's a great actress..surely she was a disney network star...surely...?

Nope this is her first film.
She and her sister are youtubers...singing Beyonce songs and queen b took them under her wing..
So sure she can sing....but this is a film.

I sat through aladdin...I enjoyed it for 1 reason..Will smith..and he was the best actor on set. The rest of the cast might have been the right skin color...but omg their acting ability bordered on high school at best.

Not sure why lucas/ disney hires these no name actors for their films...esp considering disney has its own stable of stars that can sing and dance..

Ironic im waiting to see who disney cast as prince eric..
I'm betting it won't be a white dude...Hollywood for some reason has this notion of a mixed race couple..it has to be black man dating a white woman.
Yet its rare to show the reverse...like its taboo.

So you know prince Eric has to be black...not white..not latin,not asian...but black.. cause hollywood has this fucked up notion that<b> black women </font></b>have to be true to black men and not date outside their race.

Not that i care...ones race has nothing to do with the little mermaid.

Unless your a white male..

Even worse is people holding onto the hope that they give this actress bright red hair..so she look more like the cartoon..
Huh?

I'm all for diversity in films..esp if it means getting rid of women like Jennifer lawrence...

I know I'll get feedback for that last comment..
But really...what has jen law done that is worth her hefty acting fee?
I mean how many times can you appear in an x men movie..
Can we get a redo of the hunger games..
I'd watch a mtf kitniss everdeen fighting the evil transphobic governor snow...
Now played by a 300 black woman.

I mean why are certain text "sacred"..but star wars, marvel universe, things like Dr who...
Are open to diversity..

The transgendered are in the new Spiderman by the way...he plays extra/ student 10...and gets 2 seconds of screen time..
Way to go hollywood...yet he is included in the press releases about a transgendered actor in this film.
