busy, crazy (not lazy) Sunday

Two Sundays in a row have been “eventful”, though yesterday was filled with less drama and more activity.

The activity came in the form of a 10+ mile bicycle ride. The sun was shining but there was a breeze keep cool, so I pedaled the bank and Walmart ( a little over 2 miles total ) and then traveled about 8 miles ( 4 each way ) to go get a hamburger in a nearby town. It’s not like there aren’t burgers available where I live, but I happen to like the ones this place makes better than the others.

The ride was pleasant and uneventful. I daresay it would have bordered on fantastic if I’d been on a bike that was my size, instead of one that is a bit too small. I ate my burger and tater tots at a small cafe table tucked away in the shade of a church entrance, and it was refreshing to not have the constant buzz and thump of traffic that I experience when I am home. Heck, even the birds seemed to give me a break for a few minutes. And that wind that kept me cool was headed in my direction on the way home. It helped push me along quite nicely.

You’d think after riding over 10 miles in the sun, on a bicycle too small for me, that I would be done with physical activity but I was not. For some reason there was still energy aplenty coursing through me so I walked another couple of miles in the sunshine before finally coming back and laying down to have a nap. It was during this nap, while I was fast asleep, that drama decided to ensue. A very large tree branch crashed into our garage, and it took people and a chainsaw just get it off the roof, and pushed over the side so our vehicles weren’t blocked in for the night. Tomorrow I suppose I’ll be out there with the chainsaw again, cutting the branches into smaller pieces and making neater piles to later dispose of somehow. Hooray for physical activity!

I wonder when my next lazy Sunday is going to be?
