live shows?

I’ve been toying with the idea of doing live shows for quite some time. It’s not something I want to do, nor do I think I would necessarily enjoy it, but making those ends meet requires maybe more than what I am used to doing, putting out there, producing, etc. Many people make a great deal of money doing cam shows and things of that nature, and I admit I’ve tried it in the past, but I don’t really enjoy being put on the spot like that, and it is also very much a job that you have to dedicate yourself to and work at on a very different level. I can make a solo masturbation video any time, and if it’s terrible that’s no big deal because I can just hit the erase button, but when you maybe do a mediocre performance live, in front of a bunch of people, things are out of your control. I don’t like feeling out of control, or put on the spot, so I haven’t tried doing live shows again.

ManyVids recently indicated they would start adding revenue earned from live shows to our overall “scores” on the site. If I am talking about my MVboys profile, “VascularHomicide”, right now my score hovers at 150, which is actually fantastic for someone who’s only been there for 6 / six months. My MVtrans profile, “Heteroflexible K” is hovering around 250, so that gives you an idea of how consistent I am trying to be with both accounts. I think the disparity there comes from the fact that there are more trans producers than solo male. The lower your score, the better you are doing, the more visible you will be to the average Joe and Jane that logs in. It’s a number worth working on and a distinction that invariably leads to more visibility and more sales. As such, I need to consider doing live shows just to keep that number from declining. Or at least I think I do.

Since I don’t like being put on the spot, I’m considering advertising my shows as true voyeur experiences, where I do not interact, take requests, or anything like that and instead just let people watch. The hope, of course, is that they won’t do so for free the entire time, and will at least leave a tip, but I don’t know how smart of feasible that use of my time is. I guess the one cool part of it is the fact that the system records the show so you can release it later for sale, or as promotional material for future shows. The problem with that, as I mentioned above, is that any unflattering moments are there for all to see, right along with the good stuff. I can’t edit out the mistakes, moments of inactivity, etc. I’m not sure I want people to see that stuff.

If I do decide to give this a try, it will be toward the end of my day, when the natural lighting in my room is at its best. If I were to stream at night it would look terrible, and I am obviously not into looking terrible. Trying to perform at the end of my average day is probably not a good idea either, but that’s why I think I’ll make it a voyeur experience and just let people watch me for an hour or so. I’m always naked in my room anyways, so they’ll at least have that to gawk at. Maybe the cats will cruise through and I’ll play with them, or perhaps I’ll be filming and those watching me live can witness the process. The point will be to just set the laptop up in the corner of the room, put myself online, and then basically forget about it for a while. Hopefully, for the viewer, it feels a bit like they’re spying on my private moments instead of watching someone act and perform. That is the plan and purpose.
