a Christmas (Eve) tale

It was the night before Christmas and all through the house, not a creature was stirring, not even the one that barks at the slightest sound, anything that moves.

There were no stockings hung by the chimney at all, but there was wood stacked outside the front door just in case somebody wanted to build a fire later.

The roommate was nestled all snug in her bed, the cats, locked up in their room, the chickens in their coop behind the shed.

And me in my sweatpants and sweatshirt, because it’s seriously cold in this house all the time, had just settled down to maybe watch a DVD.

When out on the lawn there arouse such a screech, I thought maybe somebody was clubbing a gigantic squeak toy to death.

I didn’t rush to the window of my room in a flash, I just sighed in frustration and resignation, and waited the barking pass.

Something about snow and objects below when, what did my wandering eyes appear? Not much really, because I just smoked a bowl a few minutes ago and now I think I’m too baked to really keep doing this. The end. Hope you enjoy the Yuletide gift!
