The last things.... Finally, today, it was the finishing day for the lease of the house from my friend, who died on 03 december. It is strange to walk around her house, everything is gone, there is no Simone there anymore..... After we gave the keys to the landlord, we went to the house of one of Simones friends, just to talk, talk, talk.... and ask each other a whole lot..... It was really strange to hear all kind of different storys about Simone.... She was, really, something special! MY, Oh, mY! It was late afternoon, before i was on my way to my home again. Need to cook, eating some falafel! so lovely. with garlic sause..... Garlic sauce home make offcourse; lemonjuice, pepper, some green stuff in there too, mayo and some cottage cheese, just one clove of garlic! It was great!! lovely!! After i finished eating, i took a piece of chocolate..... Thát was not a very good combination! garlic & cholocate! Brrrr, nasty!

Sorry to hear about your friend's death. It is an odd feeling of poignant absence isn't it? The stories one tells at such times raise a flickering image but it just a pale light compared to the living person's glow. You asked about foul food... When I returned from South East Asia after living there for over a decade my sense of what tastes good had changed. So, I posited that just because something doesn't sound good doesn't mean it won't taste good. I was a teenager at the time so chicken vanilla ice cream and a rutabaga milkshake seemed like something worth trying. Boy, was I wrong!

There are a lot of places that hold special memories for everyone. I have a lot of places I resist going back to because what was there, is now gone. There's no easy solution to those feelings. Life is full of pain and disappointment, but between those two we can sometimes find some happiness even if it is brief. Taking time for reflection we often see things in a different light... Anyway..peace out.

It is strange returning to someone's house after they have died. I kept expecting him to walk into the room and make me laugh. I haven't been back to that city in nearly four years. Clashing tastes? There are so many. LOL. When I was in college, I saw a guy pour beer on his Cheerios. He offered me a bite. I declined.

Hey Rosa.... God bless Simones soul, may she be happily enjoying looking over at you there, and giggling as you have naughty pleasures !! Regarding food combinations.... damn I did a surprisingly horrid mix last week.... I have fresh smoked salmon.... and wanted bread to go with. Not having any plain bread, I thought... Yummy... a sultana, olive and walnut loaf will be even better !! Nope .... turned out that the olive flavors were a bad contrast with the salmon.. damn I am shuddering again even as I even think of it. Hope you're having a wonderful start to the 2020 there hun !!

alwaysassertive, i must disagree with you, on that life is full of pain and disappointment. Life is an experiment, a learning curve, there is no bad or good, there are only experiences, and how you act on that. What you do with those experiences.. that is my view. Some are not that nice, some are really bad, but they are just all experiences... I believe my girlfriend is in a much better place now....Going on, for her next experiment.... learning....

Energymatic, The storys only make more mystery about our friends life.... There will be more meetings, just to try and get to the whole picture.. together, it seems she was soo very terrible lonely.. that is sooo sad... Not understood by her family, at all.
