The kitchen, The drain pipe in my kitchen is blocked For some days now The water goes down very, very slowly.... So, yesterday i had enough of that and took to work on the pipe It seems that the drain pipe makes a 90 degree turn somewere, where i cant see the pipe anymore.... Grrrrr... because i could not get that tool deeper into the pipe... I hate it, when i cant fix things like that. SO, today i called the company and i have to wait the whole day, tomorrow, for that mechanic to show up, on my door!! from 8 till 4! while i should be able to do it myself! So i will watch very closely, to see what he does to fix this. and what i did wrong or missed.... just some domestic drama! LOL |

I dont know the English word for the tool It is some kind of long spiral tool, you have to twist it, a bit, to get in there..

Plumber's 'snake'...
| ||
|
have you tried a lot of Very hot water ? sometimes fats create a block but hot water tends to slowly dissolve it .

|
BillywildMartin, Thank you! Ofcourse! sounds so logical!!

msfunfor, No, i did not use very hot water. I just opened it all up and tried to put that plumbers snake in it.... did not get very far.. not far enough, anyway.... i leave it now, to the mechanic, who is coming tomorrow...

yes, you can put a tea pot of boiling water down weekly and that helps move anything that's congealed. A small snake can sometimes be used to dislodge blockages too.

I hate plumbing problems. I had a small blockage in my kitchen sink but, thankfully, some pressure got it down. My old plunger got thrown away, so I went to Amazon and I dare a blockage to show up again

yes a snake but when you get it clear you can put a cup of white vinegar down the drain ech night or so it keeps it clean. do it on all your drains

electrosexguy, Aah, thank you, for this lesson in the diffferent kind of chemicals, to use or not to use. I always put my rings, jewelery away before i go work on drain pipes.. I have this friend, she makes compost in a box, and that produces some fluid, you can use to unclog pipes. I have no idea what that fluid is, it smells horrible. you have to dilute it, before you can use it to feed you garden plants... It is fixed!! i am ever so happy!!

boh, it is already fixed, i am glad , too. I will keep in mind, to use hot water. I never use any chemicals for this kind of problems.

drmgirl, SO, you show your plunger to the sink and it get really very scared and wont ever dare to blog your pipe, every again.

bimom4, Alright, i am happy with all the good advise from every one, thank you, too The problem is already solved.

If there is one thing I am thankful for, it would be the fact that the plumbing was well though out and normally one kettle full of boiling water or a full sink of warm water (I mean filled up to the overflow, then pull the plug with the taps still gushing water in) tends to shift most things - else the u-bend has to come off and cleaned outside with the garden hose. Only problem area is the shower , so once a month I remove the hair trap and clean it, then bringing the garden hose in through the bathroom window, I blast water straight down the pipe from the nozzle - just glad it's only monthly !! D-J xx

davina, I can inmaging that! I dont like this kind of job, either, but someone has to do it..... I also dont like to call the building company, when ever a pipe gets clogged. The one in the bathroom, wasstand, gets clogged every now and then. I clean it out, with this snake thing... works perfect.
