Talking, talking, talking... That is all, what our government and the EU is doing. While with all the fireworks that will go up into the air, is really very bad. Not only for those who get themselfs in a hospital and cripple for the rest of their lifes... BUT, the birds dont have an agenda, dont know what is going on, and fly out of their sleep trees and fly very high and very very long, because those morron, shoot their fireworks everywhere!! A lot of birds get killed, this way! And those lame folks in the government still searching for their balls and backbone. Way too afraid to get the firework industrie and the weapon industrie against them.. They are responsible for all the birds that die. It is in other countrys possible, to have a central firework show, Even here, in a place called Sneek the local government decided we do a anual fire show and stop the private selling of fire works! It is possible! But Holland?  amp;  Money is their only motive, or so it seems. all dogs and cats, and people who came from war zone countries....?? all are in for some real bad, bad days. I have a rather extreem solution, nobody will follow through, ofcourse....  , it could be as criminal....  Just put the fire works in analy, put the match to it, and you solve two problems in one strike! HA! I told you! It is rather extreem!  That is how much i dislike those morrons, full of liquor and throwing fireworks every where! These days, the fire works are also very, very heavy, like real bombs, and grenades. The folks, here, already started their private war game....  This has to stop!! It is soo terrible primitive!! and stupid braindeath. |

I always liked walking around, giving people happy newyears greetings, on the way, and look at all the money people throw into the air... Nowadays? Not so much, i rather stay in, i dont want to lose a eye, ear, leg, arm, just because those morrons really have no idea what they are doing..

My dog's SCARED to extremes of loud noises, especially fireworks, and runs and hides wherever he can to TRY and get away from the noise, it's ALL VERY SAD to watch. I've tried holding him, re-assuring him, etc., but he's not comfortable as long as he can HEAR them. And there seems to be more folks now that are setting them off MORE OFTEN than when I first moved here over six years ago...they'd ALL be the first to want something BANNED if it affected them the way their actions affect my poor dog...

Here in the UK we've been having fireworks going off since October, first there was Guy Fawkes Night , the celebration of the only sane man to enter parliament - and try to blow it up, followed by Diwali, the Hindu Festival of Light, and the damn things have been going off since then. OF course it is terrible for animals and birds but also for humans, especially those who have fled from war or still have relatives in Ukraine and Palestine. and other places where there is conflict. There are those who have PTSD. I do like your solution, it is a bit extreme, but once someone has had their bottom exploded they would (i hope) think twice about setting off more fireworks. Of course our government, like others, won't do anything until they are directly affected. All we can do is try to keep us, the people we care about, and our animals safe inside wile the madness reigns.

My friends puppies are terrified when the fireworks start in her neighborhood. There are a few bad apples where I live and they could care less about all the buildings and trees around.

I hear you Rosa... the same is where I live... we have a few dogs and two cats that we (my neighbors and me) take care of, and they are so frightened and shaking when the fireworks start... it is still quiet, but as of the New Year Eve it will start and won't stop till mid of January... Each year you can read on social media that people complain about it and a few misfortune accidents take place every year... those are sadly kids who play with it without supervision or any permission... they lose fingers... arms... and there is always a monster or two who deliberately hurt some stray dog... I would put them all in prison...

BillywildMartin, I hear you! i feel so sad, for all the animals. There are homeopathic meds for cats and dogs, you can give them that, and they get a bit groggy and dont act up, are not so very nervous ,anymore, so much, is my experience with a cat.... Maybe an idea for next year? My stray cat is already very afraid and this is only makes his behaviour worst. People act so thoughtlessly... cant stand it. That is why i suggest to put the fireworks in their anus, light the fuse and bam! Maybe then...? they understand?? although i wonder about that.... too

uddercontrole, Yes, here in Holland, we have a lot of refugees, from Ucraine and other people with PTSD, from war areas all over the world. it is soo rude and egoistic, thoughless to just go for your own 3 secs of "fun".... it sickens me... I wish you a very good New Year.

drmgirl, Here too, there is this square on the opposite of the street, they are always the first. to start this missery... very early on.... sighs....it goes on, and on! They dont care, either.... I wish for a very rainy end of the year, maybe that helps...?

ExName, It is also very expensive, to have to treat all those people, with their wounds... And i dont even talk about all the disabled money, if they cant work anymore, need special help...etc... It is just dont right disgusting! So far, each year, there have been children, and grown-ups, too, here, who lose an ear, eye, hand, while "playing" around with fireworks, with their parents around, too. There is almost always liqour in the game... My stray cat is already totally stressed out, is very afraid to come to eat, at my window, and when he hears the fireworks, he just flight... so afraid, it breaks my heart to see him, in such a state.

rider,. That too, But i would rather have the whole sale to persons, banned. and have real great fire works shows in one place. Those men and women, knów what they are doing! Dont use alcohol during their job and give real great shows!
