First Amendment

First Amendment doesn't
guarantee you rights you think does.

"Congress shall make no law respecting
an establishment of religion,
or prohibiting exercise thereof;
or abridging the freedom of speech,
or of the press; or the right of the
people peaceably assemble,
and petition government
for a redress of grievances."

That's .
That's entirety of our Constitution's
First Amendment.

What speech not covered under First Amendment?
Obscenity ( definition relies on context, but regular old porn not considered obscene)
Fighting
Defamation
pornography
Perjury
Blackmail
Incitement imminent lawless action
True threats
Solicitations commit crimes
Plagiarism of copyrighted material.

believe that first amendment entitles
racism in various shades of grey was not
intent of framers of constitution.
For example; being from social media
suchas twitter, facebook are not violations of
first amendment.
first amendment protect us from censoring
by government, not private company's.
Private company's can establish guidelines
for speech/conduct and enforce them without
regard first amendment.

Thank you. That phrase is thrown around a lot. I think the nation needs a refresher course in Civics

thank you .

there is the legal first amendment and the 'popular' first amendment .
while there is no legal right to speech on private platforms we need to engage
the ones feeling aggrieved by this also on the 'popular ' understanding of the freedom of speech ,,,,,,my two cents

There is only one first
amendment to the constitution!
popularity has no validity in the law!
