Meet Rhiannon Lynn Frost Hi, my name is Rhiannon Lynn Frost and I am Transgender .Transgender is an umbrella term used to describe people with gender identity and /or gender expression different from their sex assigned at birth. All of my life I have felt I was born in the wrong body.In 2004 , I starting seeing someone to help me deal with it. In 2005,I started hormone treatments to transition and start to live my life as female.i started wearing women's clothes ,and wearing make-up.I had to get rid of all my male clothes .As I transition I have had help learning to wear women's clothes and make up from people who had already transitioned .My counsellor helps me to make sure that I am dealing well with my transition and my hormones. When I started to transition ,I had to change my male name to a female name.How did I come to pick female name Rhiannon?I was reading a book about how to live as female and part of it had something to do with picking female name . I saw Rhiannon .It stood out for me because I remembered a song back in the 70's by Fleetwood Mac, and I picked that name. So ,I had changed my male name to a female name.I paid to have my name changed legally to Rhiannon .Since my name change,I have been living as Rhiannon,and female.In the last couple of years ,things have changed for the transgender community .We no longer need to have surgery to change our paperwork on things like a Driver's License ,Manitoba Health Card and medical records.The Liberal Party of Canada will pass a bill dealing with Transgender Discrimination and Hate Crimes.The Transgender Community is waiting to hear if we do not have to pay for Electrolysis by a Doctor who will perform it.Dr.Ian Whetter is my caregiver and my Doctor who helps me with Trans issues. Since I have transitioned , I have grown as person and have met other trans .My support from friends ,my counsellor ,other transgender people ,and the LBGTQ Community has been wonderful.I know I did the right thing by transitioning.
