Today is a little bit of an interesting day. One year ago I was contacted by someone via my FetLife account. She indicated she was seeking a sub/slave. Quickly wanted to move to another platform, so I took it over to Hangouts. Seemed like a typical scammer.

Quickly pushed for a tribute. Probing for personal info. Wanted a pic. Shared a non-specific pic. Anyway, things never really went anywhere as I pressed her for a meeting first. She consistently hides behind a "BDSM Academy" that has rules that prohibit any contact prior to payment.

Over the past year, she kept popping up periodically. Most recently that was back in early January when she reached out to me yet again. We have stayed in relatively constant contact since then.

She has been very interesting to deal with. Although there have been a couple times I've caught her changing her story, overall she has somehow managed to stay relatively consistent about things. She has also shown a pretty good ability to remember things we discussed several months ago. Hell, I had one of these alt dot com scammers give me conflicting "rules" within 20 minutes the other day (clearly the account was getting moved around to different people).

I'll also say the pictures she has sent me have been remarkably consistent. They generally fall into two categories. Selfie pics in her car or pics from her "dungeon" (although the last batch looked like a hotel suite). Oddly, the ones from her dungeon always include someone else - usually someone she says is a slave of some sort. I've never had one of them come back with a hit on my image searches.

I still haven't figured this one out. Maybe the ultimate catfishing attempt? I find it hard to believe that a scammer would persist for so long with someone who has repeatedly told her I'm not sending any money until we meet.

Scammers getting better

Having been at this for at least a couple years now (by this I mean trying to connect with a domme to explore my sub side), I feel like I've become pretty good at spotting the scammers. They used to pretty much just be confined to sites like this one, but recently I'm finding them creeping over onto places like newTumbl or even the "legit" dating sites I'm on like Match or OKCupid.

Anyway, I recent started discussions with yet another domme claiming she was interested in having me for a sub. This one took a bit of an unusual step though in that she (and I use that term generically since whoever was writing could have been some dude in a foreign country for all I know) went through the trouble to write out a personal message and then photoshop it into an image. This was clearly meant to serve as a verification photo - something I've asked for in the past. I guess others are asking for the same thing, so the scammers have gotten wise to this and started working on ways around it.

I'm gonna try to put the images below. One is a pic of the message she wrote on a piece of paper laying on a table. It did include a personalized name for me, but oddly enough not the mistress name she was using in our discussions. This same message was then pasted into an existing photo of a porn star (Sophie James in the case).

So if you do ask for verification pics, examine them closely.
