That's what this lifestyle feels like at times: a number of different values that combat each other and say it's right while the other is wrong. I respect women and yet I enjoy seeing pain on their faces. I like to make sure my partner is happy and yet I like to make them do degrading things. I like a strong woman and yet I enjoy it when they're on their knees and they call me 'Daddy' or 'Sir'.

It's dilemmas like these that I tackled for quite a number of years. I thought I was weird or crazy. I tried dating vanilla and, yet, it felt like there was something *missing*.

Looking back it's pretty funny: I always research stuff on the internet and yet I never bothered to really do an in depth search about *why* people really enjoyed this. Thankfully I got off my duff and did so as it helped me come to terms with myself. I realized that what I liked and what I enjoyed didn't really have to be fighting each other.

I've come to respect a woman choosing to submit. And I think it takes real strength to *really* do so. And the amount of trust this requires is pretty immense. It might be part of the reason this lifestyle appeals to me so.
