2010 A New Decade A New Outlook "No"

It is now 2010 and lots of people make resolutions and plans to change their lives and such but really does one day have that much effect on anything. I am not planning on changing anything in my life but do still have the same goals as last year for the most part.
One of the things I like about the D/s lifestyle and being part of D/s community is you never ever get to a point where you think you have done it all or have nothing left to experience and I like that. I have not found that one elusive submissive to complete me but have had fun chatting with and playing with some of the submissive here. Chatting with people here is always fun and informative as everyone has different views and opinions and that’s what makes everything fresh and exciting. I don’t believe any two Dom/Domme are alike and there are no two submissive that are alike.
My goals for 2010 as always
- Try to live my life to the best of my abilities
- Try and get to Vegas as I believe everyone should make at least 1 trip a year to Vegas
- Attend the 2 film festivals I try and annually attend
- Win the lottery (OK had to put this one in)
I will continue my search and continue to grow and learn and I think that is the most important thing about D/s and about life in general.
I wish everyone in the alt community a Happy New Year and all the best in 2010 and then entire new decade.

Halloween Eve aka Devils Night

Well it is the day before Halloween the night where all the true zombies, demons, vamps, werewolves and other creepy things take the night off. Too gauche to attack on halloween.
At work enjoying horror movie themes, love Bram Strokers Dracula theme and of course Halloween by JC is a classic, as well as The Thing. Is The Thing a horror movie or a sci-fi not sure maybe both.
Happy Halloween to all, I am hoping to get loads of rest this weekend as I have been going balls to the walls for awhile.
Halloween is such a North America thing, I wonder how much it is celebrated world wide?
Wonder what is everyones favorite Halloween movie????
mine would have to be The Crow, I know its not really a Halloween movie but does take place over 2 Halloween nights a year apart.

Is It Possible to Truly Have an Online Sub?

I work allot on the road but do have access to the net most days at work and as well have the ability to answer my phone and text whenever I need to. I have unlimited access to the internet at night. I work in the oil & gas industry around North America as consultant so my truck is my mobile office.
There are lots of subs out there that say they have tried cyber or online training but it doesn’t work but I believe in today’s world of technology it can be an effective training tool. I feel because of my busy work schedule it would not be feasible to have a sub who would not respond to online training.
I understand on line training requires a great deal of trust and honesty as a sub can do whatever she wishes and without her Dom there who is she really accountable to. I truly believe that if the sub wants to be trained even online training will be effective as she will still want to do her best to please her Dom. Even in real life unless you have the ability to be around each other 24/7 there are still many times where the sub is on there own.
I am wondering what others feel about this issue and whether there are subs and Dom/Dommes out there that have had positive or negative experiences on line.

Responses from subs: I look at profiles and get the emails from alt and when I see a profile that looks interesting I add it to my hotlist and then send a message.
Sometimes it is just to tell the sub that they have a great profile or hot pics and I do not expect a response, I sent the message because I believe feedback is a good thing. They may already have a Master and are just looking to chat.
When I send a message to a submissive who is looking to meet a Dom/Master I try and make it special and hope for a response. Now allot of times I get no response and this does not bother me but then today something that makes me smile.
I sent a message to a potential sub to start a dialogue as she seemed very interesting, she had no photos on her profile but it was well written. I got a polite response being
"Thank you for your interest but no thanks, good luck Sir"
I thought to myself her is a girl who either has had some training and knows herself or a girl that truly will be a special sub for some lucky Dom/Domme as she was looking for either.
A quick one line message and made my day, would love to hear thoughts from others on the subject or returning messages

New blogger intimadated by others

This is my third blog and I have wanted to blog for a long time but there are some very good bloggers out there and if you have never done it before it can be a daunting task.
I started a regular blog outside of alt where i blog mostly my movie reviews, I am an avid movie fan and attend 2 or 3 film festivals each year. I always try and get to TIFF and this year attended TADD as well.
Anyway, this blog will be more about my love of the D/s lifestyle and how I enjoy it, also my challenges in finding that right sub to play with, grow with, etc. I had a full time 24/7 sub but we have grown apart but are still friends which i am thankful for. That is what brought me back to alt as I find this web site to be both informative and a good place to meet people.
Now that I have started blogging it is not as scary as it seemed and I just have to find time to voice my thoughts here.

Question for the alt community

I have a question, in the profile set up there are all the different scenarios, i.e. Doctor/patient, Boss, secratary, etc
They have one called FURRY/furry and I have no idea what they are referring to. I would love to hear from people who know for sure what this refers to and also if you don't know, what you think it is.
I have this scene of Dom and his sub dressed as demented muppets like Meet the Feebles because they are kinda furry, kind of a bizzare image.

Profile Filter Settings

I always wonder when I read profiles from submissive who say they are looking for people to contact them and they will respond to all messages.
Then there filter settings are on so most messages will not get through, do they do this out of laziness, don't want to write a thorough profile?
Just curious more than anything and maybe alt just needs more detailed filter settings.
