Headed into 2022 with new expectations. I'm going to force myself to be more active and try to meet more people. To date I've met a few amazing people, but in general I have a tough time. I just found out this evening that my last grandparent passed away this morning. It wasn't a surprise by any means since my grandfather's condition had been deteriorating for some time. It's still a shock to the system though and I'll mourn for a while. At the same time I'll be thankful for the life I have and try to embrace it as much as I can.

I've been dealing with a few bulged discs for almost half a year. At the worst point half my foot and part of my leg was completely numb with constant 24/7 pain in the other half of my leg and back. The good news is the numbness has gone away and the pain has mostly receded of my leg. I've started aquatic physical therapy recently and have progressed to the point where I'm allowed to start walking on a treadmill for 20-30 minutes. Tonight was the first night on the treadmill and man it was nice to be able to do something more active...even walking. My goal is to get back in shape enough to softball this season, golf frequently, and be able to hike plus miles a day. Today I feel like I'm one step closer to reaching my goals!

I live two lives. One life I'm at or near the top of my field in the region. I have an awesome family, great friends, numerous hobbies, etc. Then there's the completely separate side of me I keep hidden from life 1. No one would suspect at all the things I have done or want to do. It's hard to live this way and find a balance at times. Life 1 is certainly the priority and I won't ever do anything to compromise it in any way....but....life 2 is a part of me that wants out. The struggle to find balance is why I come and go...tell myself that I can live without life 2 but in the end it always finds a way back. A couple of my life 2 associates have told me to embrace it when I get overwhelmed. It's hard to explain the inner turmoil I have at times...in fact to this point I feel like I'm rambling so maybe I'll leave it at that. Balance can be tough.
